Round 5 team vs Carlton

With regard to team balance, I would have thought that Jackson is out for Hughes - not Krak.

When a fwd, Jackson plays as a short leading fwd. Hughes also is a leading fwd, and having both of them in the team provides less flexibility.

With Brownie out, Krak will be there as an option to play the opportunistic fwd. He kicked three against Geelong for the magoos - a similar return in the ones would be great.

Go Krak.

Having Krakouer and Rodan in gives us two small low possession gathering midfielder/forwards who don't score anywhere near enough goals!
Neither are quick either.
At least Jackson adds versatility due to his height and pace.
Playing both Krakouer and Rodan together adds precious little and baffles me no end.

Agree. Good post. Well said.

I'm not over the moon that Jackson is out, just living in hope that Krak can snare 2, 3, or 4 goals.

Perhaps Krak for Rodan would have been a better change - Krak being the better goal kicker.

Why there seem to be this love affair with Daniel Jackson on PRE is a bit of a mystery to me.

I am not surprised he got the chop because quite frankly he makes a lot of errors. Someone else here mentioned that while he can be effective in an open forward line he really struggles up the ground. To me, there are some encouraging signs but also a hell of a lot of worrying signs that I suspect may always be a part of his game.

I know most of you don't like Krak but come on... he is a better footballer than Jacko every day of the week. Just calling it like I see it people.

I agree, although Jackson is alot quicker & stronger; just not a natural footballer.  Still believe Jacko can get better but for now has been very dissapointing.  I can still remember Krak's game against the Swans last year.  He was brilliant.  Was the main reason we won that game. It's just a shame he does it so sparingly.  Krakouer has the talent, just not the engine or leg speed to fulfill his potential.   Would be good if fellow PRE's showed Krak a little respect too.  There's only been 2,000 pages of krak bagging on his thread, and using his real name instead of *smile*, etc... is pretty disrespectful and ordinary.   :(

GO TIGES!!!

GO TIGES!!!

Bravo I agree, go Mikee.

Would be interesting to see our blokes as a comparison to see how the stats compare to people's views. Good work fella.

Heath Scotland bobs up a few times. Good second tier onballer gets under teams guards. Needs to be watched.

Shocked that Fisher rebounds from 50 so much considering he is a forward.  Is often their Target around CHF. Must have better endurance then I noticed.

I will keep a watch on these two tonite. Pretty important palyers. Teams often man up Fev, Waite, Whittnal and Stevens and let these two run free.

This is not exactly on the topic, but I wasn't sure where else to put it. But did anyone see the article on Wayne Harmes in the HS today?

The start of the article tells how Wayne was a passionate tiger as a kid, had his career with Carl, and now is a tiger man again as it is in his blood.

I have never heard of a player having a decorated career with a club, and then supporting the club they supported as a kid again when retired. Sometimes they have a soft spot for their childhood team, Johnno is good example as he always had a soft spot for us while at Adel, but you never here what Wayne has done.

Anyway, what a good bloke. I thought there was something I liked about him when he played.

I must say the continual bagging of Krak has me mystified. Although he doesn't get the ball enough and he needs to improve his fitness to get to contests (he admitted this himself) - he does two things better than ANYONE else at the club. His handballs out of packs. His delivery inside 50. If you haven't realised this yet, that is why Wallace keeps picking him.

Incidently he also does freakish things around goals.

a forward line containing *smile* pettrified stafford and richo would have to be one of the slowest in the league. i can see their rebound killing us. one things for certain you cannot play pettrified and *smile* in the same forward line. and we should not be playing ruckmen especially a dinosaur like stafford as permanent kp players.

You forgot to mention his rigorous tackling and 100% effort at keeping the ball in our forward 50.

Going tall first up with foley, krak, rodan and im not sure who else they mentioned on AW being on the bench to start.....Trying to stretch the Carlton defence by the sounds of things.

Tambling was the fourth player on the bench.
