Dont know if already mentioned but a couple of points I noticed.

- Did Richo have a shot at goal during the match, cant remember him going through a match and not having a shot.

- Liked JON and Cleve's game, good to see they have impact in their first game, great goal from Cleve from just inside the square. Hope they leave him in the forward line as he looks a good shot for goal.

- Eagles only have 3 players from other clubs and one was from the rookie list on their list compared to our 8.

- Our record this year is looking like Essendon last year, no wins but close and putting ourselves in a winning position. Hope we dont have the midseason big losses like they did plus we are playing more kids than what they did.

Excellent post Knighter, especially your last point. I still say we have plenty to look forward, the most we have in a long while.

Thought Oaktree Nichols showed alot of promise. Didn't get alot of the ball but you can just see he has the balance composure vision and delivery skills that is required. Also has gained some good mass since the last time I saw him. Quietly excited by Oaktree and should replace Deledio on the back flank from now on.

Deledio played well in the middle and with Foley mixed it well with the best in the competition. Shame Tuck and Johnson are useless and provide no senior support.

Polak was amazing and I take back all I said when we traded for him. Has probably been our best so far this year. Dockers will regret letting him go.

McGuane shows alot of spine and despite his lack of size really dished it up to Hansen. Played well.

Tambling played better but still needs to find consistency, composure and vision. He kicked 4 in the first quarter but won't get too excited with that as none were clearly constructed goals as a result of pure football smarts. 1st from a scrubber kick that dropped short into his lap. 2nd was his best but again it was from a freaky long quick kick which he rushed that found the goals. 3rd from a gimme handpass from Richo. 4th from a free kick. From then on he went missing. Remember Krak has kicked 5 in a game before and McGrath kicked 5 on debut. Again it's a step in the right direction but as I said he needs to improve his consistency, vision and awareness. still made some very basic decision and skill errors. Much more impressed with the signs form JON to tell you the truth.

Bowden played well again, and must be thinking what he has done to be surrounded with senior teamates with absolutely no football brains.

Simmonds played well and is coming along nicely. Schulz played well, took some really nice marks but didn't have his kicking boots on. Cleve was good and encouraged by his performance.

Jackson is a waste of time. King showed desperation but that's about it. His skills are very average. Edwards shows football instincts but needs time to build up. Tuck was pathetic and lost count of the number of clangers. Johnson is non existent. These 2 need to go for the betterment of our club. Gaspar also. He just can't match up on the monsters anymore. If he can't do that then he is useless, which he is. Pettifer has gone backwards and is soft as butter. Needs a coburg kick up the arse.

Over the next few weeks I'd like to see Polo, Meyer, Connors, Riewoldt, Moore, Casserly come in and gradually weed out the weeds like Gaspar, Tuck, Pettifer, Johnson, Jackson, King etc.

Agree with most of that Harry.

Interesting you pot Jacko and King for disposal(rightly) but not concerned with Maguanes disposal?

McGuane has great closing speed and has a great spoil. His kicking isn't the best but it's not that bad. Is improving. Polak isn't the best kick also but his arial work is great.

good post on the game Harry White, only listened to the game but sound right. Agree on the Tambling observations.

So did Gaspar pre-knee.

Disagree.2nd worst disposer at our club in my view(after Patto)

Polak is suprising me on the upside.Very satisifed with him.His disposal and decision making is streets ahead of many at our club.No complaints with him.And a very good game on Saturday.

Agree to disagree on Mcguanes disposal. Rank his disposal ahead of Patto, Gaspar, Tuck, Richo, Knobel, Hartigan, King for starters. Not the best though.

Gaspar pre-knee had a position in the team. After the knee he hasn't. He's been on the list 2 years too long.

You got doubts over Tambling snake man?

Not really, I just base assessments on whats in front of me. I reckon its a matter of whether RT will be good or great, can'tt see him being a dud. I agreed completely with your assessment of his game on sat.

I laughed when I saw the comment on your avatar, a mate from Melbourne was staying at my place recently and saw the tiger sticker on my ute saying 'eat 'em alive tigers'. He said it should read 'FFS tigers'. I laughed, unfortunately.
