Round 6 team Vs Port [MERGED]

What do you do if Johnno doesnt play - do you go for the bigger bodied player in Jackson against a strong PA side or do you go for the speed of a Raines or Roach on a fast TD surface???
I like Raines, but I'd prefer Jacko in this situation. As you say he is physically more mature and for a guy his size he is not at all slow.

how the hell does pettifer keep getting a game every week?

You still having a crack lebo! ;D

Must admit, very disappointed Jackson has been dropped. THought he was ok last week which made him better than most. I can see Raines at least gettting a full game in the magoos but even he is a bit stiff.

Ok i can sort of understand why Jacko got dropped purely on the basis that this is really his 1st year and short spells on and off the bench is probally not the ideal way to learn the trade.I agree that both Krak and petticoat are very lucky as much as Jacko being unlucky along with Raines.
I would have preferred to keep Jonno out for another week to be on the safe side and keep either Raines or Jacko in.
Skipper, please return to your medication,Jackson's demotion is disgraceful.Krak & Graham can't even remember what the shape of a football is.TW has crucified Jackson all year while the Graham gets an armchair ride.

I'd prefer that they give Johnno another week and kept Jacko in. Delighted to see that Meyer and Bling are getting a game, though. Would Jacko get back in if Johnno doesn't come up?
If Johnno doesn't come up, jacko will be in. But you can't promote two lightweight teenagers and keep another lightweight in Raines and a heavier but still developing Jacko in the side against a mature side like Port.

Some solid game time at Coburg will do Jacko the world of good. He'll have more time to work on his game - he looks rushed in the seniors.

I've always felt Rodan needed some time at Coburg instead of learning bad habits in his first two years of senior footy. It's best for the long-term development of most of our young players that they are given time at Coburg to get up to speed. Even if it means giving time in the seniors to players who probably won't be around in 1-2 years.

Has Wallace got something against last years recruits.

Jackson
Roach
Raines
Gilmour

Out of the side.
Agree Crackertiger,Astounding changes.Jackson has every right to be peeved & so does Raines.Gilmour deserved his chance. Is Mark Graham on a weekly promise?

Geez thats a tough call droping jackson & raines for tambling and meyer.....raines & jackson did enough to be playing this week raines got like 1 3/4 game time bit of a joke....tambling may strugle and meyer???????? agree
gilmore needs a go and there some others that probly deserve to be dropped

And the Hawks dropped Franklin and Roughhead ... (even though Franklin ended up playing)

Its called player management. I would prefer that TW played a player 3-4 weeks and then gave them a week or 2 to work on improvements to their game and then brought them back in. this way we get games into all the kids while still resembling a football team.

We must remember that Jacko is still only 19 and was not like deledio (the number 1 pick). Even deledio will get a rest sometime during the season.

A couple of weeks in the twos wont hurt Jacko, he can play some full games, and just get his hands on the footy.

Not unhappy with that decision.

ahhhh the voice of reason

wallace is still trying to get our oldest 22 on the park which he has nearly done bar Morrison, Hilton and hyde. Morrow can't squeeze in because he's the 9th oldest big fellow. Hilton and hyde are injured.

therefore younsters fill the gaps.

The youngsters have to learn and earn their spots. And keep earning their places too, and that will make us stronger in the long term.

And the older players get to state their case (and have a chance to drive up their trade value).

carna Tigers...smash the Power

fair crack of the whip MoneyBags.remember i support the tigers.i need that medication ;D
I wouldnt call Jacko,s demotion as either a disgrace or TW crucifing him.I agree there are those like Krak etc who deserve to be playing for Coburg than Jacko but like i said this is more or less Jacko,s 1st full season and considering his background he has done a wonderful job thus far but still is learning the game.
Besides id rather be in Jacko,s shoes than the likes of krak,Pettifer,Tivvers etc if their lack of form continues after rnd 8 ;)

Top of the morning to ya MoneyBags.Im sure TW knows what he,s doing and you also have to take into account the input that Royal has as well when it comes to the side and in particular the kids.

Agree TW in general knows what he's doing but I believe Jackson should be in the side especially when Graham & Krak have retained their spots.

Jackson, Raines and Pattison played for Coburg today so Johnson will defrinately play. A bit too early? The 3 emergencies were amongst the bests and I think it is wise to give Jacko and Raines full games at coburg. They were a bit scratchy at the start of the game but slowly got their rythm and started to take full control near the end. Give these 2 another 2-3 full games at Coburg, then promote them as this is the best for their development. Sheedy always did this - drop the kids to the twos despite their form in order to get full games under their belts. Not too unhappy, as Terry deosn't want to fully blood in the kids yet while assessing which parts he can salvage from the car wreck.

We just have to trust that they've made the right call on Johnno and aren't playing him a week too early. If he's right he'll add some steel to the midfield.

I just cant see Johnno playing this week - as much as we need him out there playing you cant risk a long term injury on a player coming back too early.

What part about all 3 emergencies playing for Coburg did you miss TT? ;D
