PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

There is a piece on the Richmond site which references an article KB wrote in 1996, comparing the attributes of Royce and the then young Richo. I would be interested in hearing others posters thoughts on this article. I remember reading it back in 1996 and not agreeing with KB's comment that "at the moment he is not as good as Hart, but he may in time be rated at least his equal, if not better." Royce was an all out legend of the game- full stop. At the time, although Richo had obvious talent, I could never see him reaching the same status in the game as Royce. Roughly, 12 seasons on my thoughts have not really changed. Richo is a legend in his own right - but a legend of the game?? I dare say not. What do others think? Were does the big unit stand now as compared with Royce? I can tell you one thing, if over the last 12 years Richo had played in 4 Richmon premiership teams, my thoughts would be entirely different. I guess for me that is where the key difference lies. Royce lead us to the top of the mountain 4 times. Richo, though not solely to blame, has not. Simple as that!
