Ruck

Hopefully we get Warnock or someone ready made because i wouldnt want us to take a ruckman in the first 2 or probably even 3 rounds of the draft.

Big Gus has taken some time to get going after he broke his ankle at the end of last year.
I believe his last couple of games for Coburg have been pretty good so would prefer to see him get a run rather than elevate Cartledge.
New ruckman with our first pick in the draft Tyrone Vickery come on down. Can't help it I liked what I saw in the under 18s today ;D.

Tyrone Vickery got a gig rap on the local news here tonight. He must have went ok.

For those who have seen Angus does it look like he is going to make it?

This is why I can't figure the desparation to grab Warnock as the answer to our ruck problem.
Having only seen Gus and Warnock in one televised match each, IMO Gus shows more than Warnock.

As a former ruckman myself, I was very interested to see them both in action and was quite impressed with Gus's work at the ball-ups and boundary.

Still each to their own opinion.

After watching coburg last week Cartledge is miles ahead of Gus in every aspect in leysy's view.

yeh, far from convinced he's up to it. A damn site better chance than Gus ATM just the same.

Just give him a crack. We hvae nothing to lose. Still need to walk away from the National draft with a quality young ruck and need to put another on the rookie list. We could have another prospect right now if Howatt wasn't on the list. Good grief. That was as bad as the Jordy trade.

With a gun midfield who cares who wins in the ruck?

Maybe if Simmonds had a red hot go and got reported 1-2 times a year( missing 1-3 games) he'd be more useful to us. Moping around doing sweet f.a. is'nt helping. He's a giant lump of a bloke; CONTEST!!!

I agree with you to a point, but it's what happens when a couple of kids get long term injuries that worries me. Unlike other teams we have zero depth below a core of about 8 blokes, which is far less than you really need IMO.

I think overall our depth is building nicely. We have a relatively high number of youngsters coming through and it wasnt that long ago that we didnt have any choice but to continually play the likes of Pettifer and Tivendale regardless of performance. Our midfield improvement is a shining light for me. For sure we need more depth there but generlly speaking your youngsters dont reach their real hardness with body shape until 24 or 25. Alot of midfield options for the future, its just not apparent just yet as a number of likelies still need to prove themselves at the top level.

Just watched the Saints win and how dominant were they in the Ruck. Thats where she all starts. How would King have gone at the Tigers.

The game bored me to tears.

But if you give the tape to Wallace and Miller we'll get King for a 1st round pick. ::)

But i still dont think Cartledge is the answer.
he may not be i think most dont think he is. but theres one sure way to make a proper assessment thats play him for the last 8 games what have they got to lose. continue to play pattison what a joke hes clearly shown hes not up to it.

this footy club needs a cheap retread from somewhere another ruck somewhere in the nd and a couple on the rookie list would not hurt.

atm we effectively have one ruckman on the list who is up to afl standard and hes become injury prone and old. im surprised such a short ruckman like simmonds has managed to survive for so long.and keep his effectiveness when fit.
