opposition clubs would love richmond/carlton to win this week because it improves their draft positions an extra 2-3 spots
nothing groundbreaking but still handy
I think some people under-estimate the power of this. Having the number 1 PSD puts the pressure on other clubs trying to deal with you. I think losing this priority is probably more important than your pick2 going to pick3 in the priority draft. Saying that, I still cant see the players tanking. On a high after last week they will be trying their utmost. It's up to the coaching panel to do their best to lose. Losing this game against the Saints is not a foregone conclusion.Mikee said:and miss having the PSD pick 1 and the bargaining power that comes with it.

of the player we pick up with the priority pick. In reality I don't think we have much choice anyway.
totally disagree. this yrs draft is similar to most drafts and yes its weaker than last yrs but last yrs was an exception to the rule.people are already talking about kids like vespremi millar sullivan being around our priority pick. there are at least wa kids i would like to see in a tiger jumper most highly rated who will be around pick 20. drafts every yr are turning out more and more afl players the draft is becoming more and more precise. and madcow yes 03 wasnt a great draft it is one at the other end of the scale when compared to last yr but have a look at how deep it went sheesh we picked up hatigan tuck and raines in the seventies that yr a pretty good effort if your not expecting complete champions with such late picks. for me everydraft is treated as my clubs lifeblood every top 20 pick is very valuable the players are there its up to the recruiters to get it right. as ive said before until we as a club start treating picks in the first three rounds as very valuable we will always struggle.CptJonno2Madcow2005 said:Ty Claw for doing the "footwork".This years draft is so similar to 03,s.the claw said:03 mundy butler moody spaanerman gilmore.
Lets see:
Mundy-Had a godd start to his career.Stumbled abit this year but a good kid nevertheless
Butler-Hard to get into the WC side. But has been in the system now 5yrs.Is a worry
Moody-Word is he,s up for trade or delisting
Spandermann-Wafl
Gilmour-We all know his history.
Yep can see why clubs will be falling over themselves to get as many picks in the top 20 as possible
Win a Premiership , and the angst of a wooden spoon 5 yrs earlier will be barely remembered. I'm not saying theGoodOne said:PurpleSneakers said:The result of this game will be irrelevant in 5 years , so I'd like to be celebrating the 100 game milestone

Or the priority pick will be forgotten as a failure but the wooden spoon for 2007 will be rememberd forever. Oops sorry the heart talking again.
