Saints matchups...3rd time lucky

Their run will come from Goddard/Gram/Montagna/Fisher, we need to ensure those boys don't get too much easy football - we need to force them to be accountable. Don't mind if Hudgton gets more of the pill, he's nowehere near the offensive threat. Morton-Gram/Reiwoldt-Goddard/Deledio-Montagna/Richo (when he is down forward)-Fisher need to be aware of their opponents. Would prefer Montagna gets a tag.

Sarge is a certainty for the derailed G train.

He as shown he is a hard nut and loves the physical stuff and is the perfect matchup for Gehring.

Agree totally but the coaching staff seem to want to play Thirsty at 'true' Full Back each week (ie. Sarge was obvious choice for Roughead last week for same reasons). Sarge is the only 'big bodied' defender we have and has shown that he can 'run-off' opponents and set play up with good disposal.

This would seem to suit playing on an out of form G-Train and Sarge being BOG!

PS I too remember the day Thirsty carved up Riewoldt before 'doing his knee' and having him kick two match winning goals. Thirsty must play on Riewoldt at the start.

I reckon moore will get riewoldt. Moore has tended to get the big jobs each week. pavlich franklin ect.. I dont believe he has lowered his colours once this season at worst he has broken even. I know last week Franklin kicked 1.7 but keeping Franklin to 8 shots at goal is considered a victory considering the form he is in.

who to play on Jason Gram? He killed us coming off their backline in the first match last year. didn't he kick 4 goals?

White or Edwards becuase they both have increased defensive skills, and can also hurt Gram if Gram isnt accountable.

For me....

Edwards on Gram (Did a good job on Gilbee)
Hyde on Montagna
Johnson On Dal Santo
Foley head to head with Hayes
White to run with Harvey
Moore on Riewoldt
Schulz on Kosi
Thursfield on Gehrig
Richo on S.Fisher
King on Milne

Is G-Train a late change?

Gez.... how defensive is every1's mind set! We are in good form! Play the game on OUR terms! Our midfield should beat them head to head... They have tall timber up forward but they have not clicked so far this year!

Let them do the worrying abt whose gonna man richo on the wing, then up forward!

Dont forget we have a super human running machine that is dropping back in the whole and pushing forward and kicking a few big ones! Apparently this running machine can also take a mark... even the odd contested grab aswell!

Agree, although Gram's form is not that good this year but he and Montagna have killed us recently.
This is the one. He has torn us a new orifice the last 3 games we have played them. 6 Brownlow votes against us last year. Also towelled us in NAB Cup this year. Each time, Jackson was his opponent. Hopefully, we've learnt from our mistakes. At least we know that Raines won't be lining up on Riewoldt this time. ::)

Im with you Taz, they're the 1's under the pump. Attack in defence, Attack in the middle, Attack down forward.
As they say "He who dares wins !"
Bring it on i say !

I'll give Terry Wallace the benefit of the doubt and accept that the ridiculous and well-documented matchups in the Saints' forward line in both games last year we due to tanking.

I really hope this was the case because, given the track records of our defenders, if I see Thirsty line up on Gerhig rather than Riewaldt on Saturday night, Wallace will have finally lost me forever.

Thank you Terry.
