Every year this kids name gets bandied about on all the fansites as a trade priority, I'm just wondering if anybody on here can shed some light as to why??

Apart from being a high draft pick, this kids been in the system for 3 years now and shown pretty much stuff all.

Anybody have any actual evidence that this kid is worth all the fuss that seems to surround him at trade time??

The only thing in his favor is that he has had injury problems for most of that time & possibly a lack of opportunities with a team full of midfielders (the last 2 years, not this year). He could b a player that will surprise as we havent seen him have a full pre-season/season. I personally think we have an influx of midfielders and should b looking for tall key position/ruckmen.

Chad or Kane Cornes gave him a big wrap after one game recently saying something like,it's good that some of the young guys have forced their way in and played well tonight, especially salopek who's a really talented kid. followed by a bunch of other crap.

So either internally they rate him, or they want to lift his trade value ;D

He hasnt shown a whole heap because he hasnt got a fair chance..when he has been given a go he's done ok. Williams seems to favour the older, more experienced players.

He played some good games last year if I recall but was forced out of the side by an in form kid by the name of Cassisi.
They both played well together and are of a simular age I think ,then Salopek got injuries.

He is a good player in my opinion but I wouldn't be giving away to much for him, maybe second rd pick and tivva

Is a contested ball winner id trade tivva for him no worries!

Be a great get for the tigers Craig but I dont think that Williams is that far gone around the loop just yet mate to accept Tivva for Salopek... ;)

DragicevicFan has raised an interesting trade scenerio given that Motlop has flagged his intentions to leave North. The scenerio of;

Salopek to Richmond
Krak to North
Motlop to Port

Would probably need to sweeten the deal for North due to Kraks contract size or forkout with an extra player or late draft pick.

Have only seen Salopek on the TV once, what are his physical and game stats ?

What type of injuries has he had ?

Is he a ball winner or receiver ?

This is a classic case of us in Victoria perceiving that a player does not get a fair go at his interstate club. I'm not sure Salopek is a trade priority but his name has come up this year and last.

From memory he was in the 2002 draft which has not thrown up many ready made players. We got Schulz at pick 12 who is taking time but shows good signs too. Similar things can be said of Goddard, Brennan etc.
