Salopek?

meyer for salopek - id do that
id also think about shultz for salopek

Could definately live with that. Still have major doubts on Shultz. Doesn't have a big enough motor, or do enough ATM. Show's only glimpes for very short periods. Salopek had a very good year and would be a great addition to our midfield.

GO TIGES!!!

If I'm not mistaken Schulz has signed until the end of 2008.
He won't be going anywhere this trade period so it's best to move on and hope Jay nails it in 2007.

YES!!!!! Hmmm lemme think Saolpek for Schulz. A 21 year old already picking up 20 possessions a game in the midfield, or a 21 yo who is struggling to get 5 possessions a game and goes missing in big chunks. Willing to give Schulz another year to really show this potential that he supposedly has, but if a Salopek for Schulz trade came about, you'd be crazy not to grab the deal as fast as you can sign a signature (although pretending a luke warm interest would of course be the best approach).

i just have a feeling that if we trade shultz he will prove us all wrong. he is capable of kicking bags of goals.

Yep only to go on and see Schulz kick 80-100 goals for West Coast in two years time. :blah

Wasn't aware that Salopek had re signed. Can anyone source this info as I understood he was keen to get back to Melb for family reasons.

More generally not in favour of trading youngsters and wouldn't offer either Schulz or Meyer. Not so sure about Cleve though who came across with a huge reputation re skills but with questions about hardness and commitment, which as I recall had left Terry and/or Greg with some reservations, when his name was discussed at the potential draftees night?

I know he has only had one year in the system and that he is a 'tall' but on what has been put up so far and if Salopek were available? then yes.

This is for you Momentai:

Salopek signs new AFL deal with Port
September 27, 2005 - 12:20PM

Developing midfielder Steven Salopek has signed a new contract with AFL club Port Adelaide for two years, quelling speculation that he may look elsewhere.

Salopek, 20, was considered one of the outstanding prospects in the 2002 national draft when he was taken by Port with the sixth selection.

He has played just 26 games in three seasons but Port was desperate to keep him as a potential boost to its midfield group in 2006.

Salopek said he was more than happy to be staying at Alberton.

"It's fantastic to have signed," he said.

"I looked at all of my options, but I'm confident of where the club is heading and what role I can play at the club, and I'm very happy to be staying with Port Adelaide."

12 months on, would be surprised to see a deal done, but if it were attractive enough any deal is possible - however that's when trading becomes winners and losers though.........

His name has been thrown around by tigers suporters for the past 2 trade periods. What is it that everyone likes about him. Doesnt stand out to much in my mind.

Stick with Sarge. He will come on very good - he is a goalkicker!! Although I'd pursue a Salopek trade...Tivendale+Mid/Late pick

LETS DO IT!!!!! i'd love to see the team i love to hate put up with grubbers in their forward 50. good luck tredders!!!

If I were Greg Miller and Salopek was available I would definitely be interested. Salopek showed a lot truckloads of potential as a junior. I am pretty sure he was struck down with glandular fever in his first pre-season. Glandular fever is a very serious illness and can lead to other serious health problems if it is a severe case.

We will see plenty more of this kid over the next two seasons.
