You can read these stats all day long if you wish , these stats are only as good as the paper they are written on , reality is we play a woefull brand of football and we sit on the bottom of the ladder winless after 10 rounds and dont even look like winning a game .
Now there's a good chance to go through the season with 1 win 1 draw and 20 losses .... now thats a stat !
Hawthorn , Geelong and playing a type of football we wished we could play .. a type that wins games .
Carlton is even miles ahead of us , and they missed how many drafts ???
Sure they havent won as many as they should , but any team that consistantly kicks 120-135 points a game will win more than they loose .
How long has it been since we kicked anything near 20 goals in a game ?????
We all laughted at the Hawthorn and Caerlton rubble of the last 2-3 years , but i guess its now called " came back and bit us big
time" ... and you wont find that on any Hun stat page !

Leysey. I was not suggesting we are superior, simly that we are not $hyte. For the record West Coast have scored 6 goals from 100 points. Richmond 14 goals from 159 points, so even adjusted on that basis we are doing OK.
But my main point which everyone seems to have missed is that we go down the middle more times than any team bar Geelong. The chipping is endemic in the game and Richmond actially do it less than most other teams. Blame the state of the game generally and not Tiges for sideways passing. The goal form kick ins stat was brought up, because at most games our fans will say why cant we clear it out of 50 yet our opponents do it easily. Perception sometimes does not equal reality.

last week was the only poor game we've had (and a quarter against Essendon).

IMO, poor old Sam is a dinosaur from a bygone era who is increasingly irrelevant. Lou Richards has more credibility.
In relation to Carlton's present form, you don't win flags by kicking 20 goals, you win them with the best defence as Sydney and West Coast have shown over the past couple of years and many others before them.
The cats had one of the best scoring sides going a few years back and lost four grand finals against sides that had very good backlines.pokey said:
