say no to malthouse, keep wallace

We need someone with mongrel and discipline. Matthews, Malthouse....neither of those two would tolerate the crap we see and I believe they WOULD bring the hard edge to a soft club. Our club is full of rhetoric. Didnt wallace say something about getting rid of players who could not hit targets. Yes Wallace has cleaned out some players BUT he has failed, along with the club administratiuon to make consistent tough calls. We need more gaspars and Kellaways.....we need some hard calls made on some soft careers....BROWN, BOWDEN, SIMMONDS, TAMBLING, SCHULZ, all the underachievers who consistently show that they arent up to it...should be shown the door.

Noone at Richmond has the balls to make the tough calls!

Boot Wallace and get some hard ar$** coach who will put some desperation back into the Tigers!

He should be kicked out of our club NOW.

The damage is becoming worst by the week.

I second both of these posts.

My word :clap

Too many soft decisions has cost us, time to get ruthless.

Add Damian Hardwick to the list of hard arsed bastards that won't take the compromise this club takes.

Time for a change, this time make it tough, hard and ruthless, spare no ones feelings.

agree.

id like to see what malthouse could do with tambling on the list, i reckon he mite actually be able to develop him into a consistently damaging player. he is still young enough. the others on your list however >:D

]I would appoint idi amin if it gave us some sucess, seems a cardboard cut out could do just as well as anyone previous

Dare we hope for comparisons between Leon Davis and Tambling under Malthouse? Took Leon a long time to sleep without the light on and he's developed nicely in the last few years FINALLY.

Tambling is actually developing better than Davis at the same age even under Wallace IMHO, so long he continues the development shown in the last 2 games.

I'm not sure if it's been posted anywhere yet but Crackers said on 774 that Mick has accepted a 1 year extension to his contract and will coach the Pies again next season.

Malthouse is no chance for Richmond. And if it is true that Mick is staying at the Pies, then that means Buckley will be available :clap

I would think it means the exact opposite. They way I'd read it, it means Buckley has told the Pies he isn't ready to step up next season, and so they are keeping Mick in the interim.

A hard nosed coach is what is needed...not a soft c%%% like Buckley. Buckley will not be a good coach! Sure he had some good skills and was an integral part fo the club BUT where were his loyalties, why did he leave Brisbane after one year? He is in the mould of so many other gifted player who went onto coach and failed dismally. We need a coach who knows what ahrd work is all about. One who worked his butt off to succeed as a player and one who works his butt off to succeed as a coach. All of the recent successful coaches have had to work hard. Worsfold was not the most gifted footballer but worked damn hard on and off the field to become a leader...he was not flashy. Roos had to work damn hard at building his skills and earned the respect of his team mates and players through his work ethic. Matthews started out as a hack but worked so damn hard to become the greatest player ever to play. Thompson was the same and Clarkson in a similar mould. Even our own Tommy Hafey...a struggling backpocket player who played about 60 games BUT had a work ethic and took a hard nosed approach to everyone. All hard working players with a work ethic. Not brilliant players but hard working players. Otehr successful coaches who werent world beaters....Sheedy, Parkin, Pagan, Williams...all hard workers who played hard and were successful. How many Brownlow Medallists have gone on to become successful coaches. How many brilliant players have become successful coaches? I dont care who we get as long as they are ruthless, hard nosed, driven and not afraid to bruise egos and upset the soft c&&&s around our club including players, committee AND supporters

We need a tough uncomprimising coach who will do whatever it takes to get us back where we belong!

Whilst leysy agrees that being a great coach certainly doesn't guarantee success. Being a hard working player doesn't either.

Terry Wallace was also one of the hardest working & courageous players that got every sinew out of his body. Didnt help him at Tigerland.

Agree Leysy, Wallace has not turned out to be anything like his playing days at Richmond, yet at the Doggies he was more so. Don't know if it's part of the new age softly softly approach which seems to be in favour at present.
