Season is not over!

Admire your optimism, but I cannot see what will change over the next 19 weeks.

- Skills and turnovers will not just fix itself and improve over the season - if you don't have the cattle, your flogging a dead horse (i.e. we have a crap list who cannot kick)
- Ruck stocks are diminishing to non-existent - Simmonds has no idea (was smashed again today) and Graham is just clumsy and needs a lot of development
- Physical pressure and tackling hasn't been present since Wallace has taken over - can't see how things will change
- Unreliable forward - cannot see how we can kick a winning score week to week. Too many forwards just go missing and there is no structure.

Only way I see any improvement in the team is when the three C's come back into the midfield. But I wouldn't be pinning my hopes on them, as all 3 will need game time before they are playing to their capabilities.

Lets not kid ourselves here, NOTHING has changed - we are a bottom 3 side the way we are playing right now.

Kidding yourself. After today Im thinking bottom four...and thats not over reacting. Cant even look fwd to a priority pick as we stuff them up also...

this club....what can you say....the laughing stock of the league.

Kind of agree that the season is not over. Think we'll continue to get smashed by the good sides but we'll beat the bad ones and finish in the middle. Luck will determine whether we sneak into the finals and get flogged or whether we finish 12th.

On Wallace, I haven't rated him for years but don't see the point in terminating his contract early and having to pay TWO coaches salaries for a year. See out the contract and then get a new coach!

The rate we are going, we should be seriously considering seeking assistance from the AFL similarly the way Gold Coast will be getting in 2010. All we have to do, is send a video to Demetriou of today's game, and I'd say we have a pretty strong case in our favour.

Let's look at the positives:

1> Luke McGuane has not been beaten this year, has been OUTSTANDING against Fevola, Hawkins & Johnson.
2> Cotchin, Coughlan, Cousins & Raines all to return in the next 2-4 weeks.
3> We play Melbourne next week

I have been a strong supporter of TW in his time at the club but I think the time has come to look forward and be PROACTIVE for once. Wayne Campbell should be appointed if we lose to Melbourne.

Every player tries their guts out and their effort should not be questioned, but all the heart in the world won't win you games without skill and performance under pressure (ask Andy Goodwin).

I know that Terry can't get a kick or hit a target for the players and they are greatly to blame for this situation we are currently in, but Terry is ULTIMATELY RESPONSIBLE for who is selected to run out on game day AND WHAT POSITION THEY PLAY. There were too many players in that team today that are just not up to it or not being played in the right position, no matter how much we love them decisions should be made NOW, and some of these these blokes should concentrate on winning a flag for Coburg, the others need to be given a permanent role and let them stick at it.

Namely,
Jake King: love the aggression but skills are diabolical.
Richard Tambling: Brilliant for 5 games a year and hopeless the rest of the time.
Jay Schulz: was fantastic at CHB in he last 1/2 of 2008 when we won 8/10. LEAVE HIM THERE, he is not a forward's a$$
Tom Hislop: strong tackler but can't bend below his knees and fumbles too often.
Brett Deledio: all the potential in the world, but what is his best position? Terry plays him everywhere, how is he supposed to settle into a role? Does he know what his role is? Sweeper across half-back looks like it would suit and he's a FAR better disposer of the ball than McMahon/Sanchez/Steven Lee (downhill skiier).

I am torn this week. Do I hope for a win (as I always do) or (horror) hope for a loss and a cleaning of the slate?
