Just checking the stats across the league, the first 4 rounds have been interesting...

Disposals (Per Game)
Gary Ablett - 36.8
Peter Burgoyne - 31.7
Nick Dal Santo - 31
Kane Cornes - 29.3
Scott Pendlebury - 28.8

Marks/Marks Per Game
Matthew Richardson - 54/13.5
Tarkyn Lockyer - 47/11.8
Bret Thornton - 43/10.8
Brian Lake - 43/10.8
Daniel Pratt - 37/9.3

Hitouts
Darren Jolly - 145
Dean Cox - 107
Aaron Sandilands - 105
Mark Blake - 91
Josh Fraser - 89

Tackles/Tackles Per Game
Brett Kirk - 36/9
Shane O'Bree - 31/7.8
Leigh Montagna - 31/7.8
Luke Ball - 30/7.5
Clinton Jones - 26/6.5

Goals/Behinds
Mark LeCras - 14/4
Lance Franklin - 14/10
Daniel Bradshaw - 13/4
Eddie Betts - 13/5
Jarrad Roughead - 12/2

Frees Against - ;D
Lance Franklin - 12
Kurt Tippett - 11
Ivan Maric - 11

IMO phenomenal efforts by Gary Ablett and Brett Kirk to date, both 37 disposals per and 9 tackles per are outstanding.

And just out of interest, the current statistics for Richmond tackles are...

Matthew White - 17
Nathan Foley - 16
Kelvin Moore - 14
Daniel Jackson - 14

Also, both Tom Hislop and Alex Rance have recorded 10 tackles in only 3 games, which is part of the reason why they were brought into the side, whereas Chris Newman has 7 in 4 games.

Also a phenomenal effort by Richo to be dominating then marking stats in such a crap team. And I bet he'd be leading contested marks by a mile as well. He is a freak. IMO the one of the best marks of the footy the game has seen; if not the best.

Saints with three of the top 5 tacklers. And they are on top of the ladder. Does that tell you something Terry???

Best contested mark in the competition during his whole career IMO.

Those 14 Franklin free kicks have been blown out a bit, He gave away 6 in one game and I think 4 came in one 1/4.

So 6 in one and 4 and 4? Still alot of frees.

The poor tackle count is a product of Terry's unaccountable game plan (which, by the way, seems to confuse the players a hell of a lot).

Taking another look at it, I think the most unpredictable stat would have to be Mark LeCras leading the goalkicking. But Newman's lack of tackling really irritates me.

Close to one of the best contested marks ever I'd think.
Can't think of too many who'd outmark Richo one on one.

Stewie Loewe would give him a run.

Imagine if he had of learnt how to kick ;D

I agree- the key is in the tackles NOT the number of possessions.
Bigger bodies, more grunt and steam out of the nostrils - beat finesse and possession football any day IMO
