WHen was the last time a richmond player gave away a shot at goal to a team mate because of an injury.

Hint:

The player in question very quickley recovered and the person chosen to take the shot at goal popped it straight through the middle !

The incident I am talking about occured circa 2000 - 2001

Cheers

Benny let Brodders take his kick.

Personally I would have rathered Hall take the kick from that distance, he rarely takes set shots but he does OK. People seem to forget Hall can kick long, and on the run.

Interesting you bring this up.  I thought it was a ploy by Raymond, but at the 3 Q time huddle he did take his boot off and receive attention to his foot.  Do you reckon he was still acting in the huddle just in case he thought the umpires were still looking at him? ::)

Agreed oh snakey one.  I for one was very happy with his attack on the footy when allowed to player further up the ground.  has slotted a few from 50 on the run.  Though he may have done it again recently at Brisbane, but he handballed off and laid the shepherd/bump.......

Nah, it wasn't a ploy, he hurt his ankle in the fall, but was able to jog it out quickly. No subterfuge.

I also remember Manson taking a mark against Geelong in a pocket at Waverlay.
Couldn't take the kick so McKeown took the goal and goaled which Manson would not have done. Manson  then ran back to the centre laughing his head off until Bews put him down.

Yep, he had it re-strapped at 3/4 time...which means he was already carrying a problem...along with his strapped shoulder, which according to those in the room after the Lions game could well have kept him out last week if we hadn't desperately needed him.

Not good for a bloke already trying to recover from a back injury...we couldn't possibly ask more than Rayzor is giving us, he's well below 100% and playing on some top players.

Yep, he certainly is a hardy battler. Gives his all.

Can look reaaaally awkward at times though "Gumpus" :hihi :hihi

But just like Richo, he gives 100% and can't help but admire him for it.

I'll be the first to admit he often looks awkward DG, but the players who don't at ~196cm range are generally superstars with massive pay packets. Among the lesser brigade at this height range, IMO Hall has well above average pace, endurance, long kicking and close in skills under pressure.

All that added to his guts and ability to fill a variety of roles makes for an extremely handy player at his wage range IMO.

Yeah, he's up there among my favourite players DG, but he's clearly the most often and unfairly maligned of that bunch...that's why I defend him.

I said the very same thing to my brother. :hihi

I was surprised how little effect it had on him. The replay of the incident looked nasty. Obviously the ankle can take a fair bit of bending.

Razor would have started his run up from half back to have a shot from where the free was.

ha ha, yeah,he looks like a newborn foal or giraffe when he running in to take a set shot. Reasonably effective though surprisingly.

;D Thats what i rekon, he looks so lanky, unbalanced and always falls down.

Even though his efforts are great, i dont blame him for not kicking the dam thing. He can kick and when he does they are the flattest helicopter punts in the world. no penetration on his kick even if he tried.

I'm almost sorry I've handed Jonno the TSAR award for this week...coz that comment is nothing short of astounding...you must be a supporter who only has access to radio? :o
