Selections decisions this week against Geelong over pizza's. [Merged]

the mail is now that Johnno's ok, they didn't think that earlier this wk. so good problem to have,
i'd suggest Hall & Johnson in
Jacko out, who else is going to be unlucky?? Meyer?? Patto would be very stiff, best match of his career thus far last saturday.

IN: Hall, Johnson
OUT: Jackson, Meyer (both omitted)

It's going to be a tough one this week for the selection committee with the strong possiblity for Johnson, Gaspar & Hall being fit to play. Watching Coburg today, Hughes, Stafford, White and possibly Chaffey are knocking on the door to put their hand up.
........
What's your thoughts?

Stick with pace and mobility, players like Gaspar, Chaffey and Stafford just don't have these overall traits in sufficient quantity to fit into our current game plans.

We rely on run out the backline as well as the ability to keep pressure on in our forward line when the ball hits the ground, add in the obvious requirement for better kicking skills and some of these "experienced" players don't stand up too well.

I read this and got as far as ...

"Stick with pace and mobility, players like Gaspar, Chaffey and Stafford "

....and nearly choked on the glass of white I was enjoying.

...then maybe you should have kept reading Grey Tiger. David C is saying that these players DONT have the pace required.

How about elaborating a little bit more Grey.

Of course I read on and understood what was being said. Geez.

...and as for elaborating it was a glass of Fifth Leg which, he says reaching for the bottle, is a mix of Sauvigon Blanc, Chardonnay and Semillon. A nice little drop from WA.

cheers

Chapman is the one to be careful of IMO. Also Milburn would be more than capable of cutting Patrick Bowden up on the rebound, I'd like to see someone play a defensive role on him there.
I know how to deal with Milburn disco8........Whack him fair and square in the jatz crackers, then knock him into next week with 6 of the best....thatll free up Patrick Bowden to help Joel create mayem off the half back line........ ;D

Not so sure this is going to be a game that is won with pace DC.

Geelong have been copping it all week from the media, coaching staff & everyone they would have come in contact with all week.

This game is going to be played at SS ie"open to the elements" with a fair breeze blowing.

Geelong are going to be ferocious at the football & most definately at the Man. blokes like Mooney, Ling, Milburn etc are going to be targetting our young fellas especially early.

We need our big bodies to really stand up. Johnson & Hall will defo come straight back in if fit.

For the reasons outlined above & as much as I'm not a Chaffey fan, if Johnson doesnt come up Chaffey may be some chance of playing as well.
