Semi - Final Games (GO DOGS!)

good year doggies but she's all over.  goodnight.
that is the end for victorian football this year.  How happy you must be AFL.

Yep, that'll be the last 6 premierships to interstate teams. Wonder how many more years before a Victorian team wins the premiership again.

Well done to the Doggies, who got just about everything out of the players that they had available.

Quite early in the game it became evident that because of their lack of tall targets, up forward, they lost their confidence going into attack. The dice were cast at that point.

Goes to show, you can get through the H&A substituting mediums for talls. But when you've got the pressure of a finals match, and you find your target is surrounded by 3 players that have first reach over him, well, that's when talls are needed - in finals, up forward & down back.

Sandilands played an ominous game for Freo, he's really hit his straps in the last few games and was very important Fri night. He's beginning to repay their faith in him at an important time. Can't see Freo beating Sydney though.

Once again a few of Melbourne's better players were MIA in a key game...they'd be disappointed.

The same skills which has served the Dogs well all season deserted them last night...rain didn't help at all. However, the Eagles beat them in the centre most of the night and that's where it was won...they were dominant.

Looks very much like a replay of last years GF is on the cards.

Spot on Phantom.

At least now the Doggies are out we'll be spared the"but look at all the injuries they've had" to the exclusion of the many other clubs that have experienced similar problems.

Did anyone else think the umpiring was bad?  I counted about 8 or 9 obvios frees for incorrect dispoasal to the dogs that were'nt paid int the first half.  WC were always gunna win, but geez, its cruel when you're playing a more powerful side one the other side of the country, AND you have to deal with a typical Giesch-trained ump who needs coke-bottle glasses.
