A lot of good work can be undone by consistently turning it over under no pressure, especially for outside players like Edwards.

No doubt Disco and this is where the doubt about him being a premiership player creeps in.
82 games is a lot of time and development in a small mid. You would hope that after that time you'd be getting the benefits of that.
They're giving him every chance this year to stake his claim because he is one of our few players who can break a line and is excellent by hand.
Some call him a hack but not too many think he should be delisted and see him as trade bait. That's because he does possess talent.
He will feature heavily in end of year discussions no doubt.

I'd take Hislop over Edwards every day of the week.

Trade made.

Edwards is better than Tambling was too.

He's a lot better than Tambling was last year, but he's no better than he was in the 2 or 3 years prior to that.

I couldn't see him landing more than a 3rd rounder myself.

But that'e enough Disco. We don't always have to a outright win in every trade. It gives us a chance to get better and cuts out the dead wood. Nothing wrong for a pick inside 50 for a player you deem not to be up to it.

What it does though is put some of Francis Jackson's second round picks in question. Post & Edwards. Yuck.

Edwards should have the composer of a Sidebottom or Wellingham, but sadly dosent have any. What's the point of weaving and baulking only to give the ball straight back, does it way too often.

If only he could kick! If he could we would have a very dangerous player! Like jackson he should spend the entire summer working on his kicking

Yeah I'd take the 3rd rounder too.

Edwards brings someone into the game almost every time he handballs it Disco. Very creative by hand.

Usually "very creative by hand" is saved for players releasing others from contested situations which isn't something Edwards does a lot. He may bring players into the game through linking up but that doesn't outwiegh the mistakes he makes IMO.

3rd rounder is plenty.

Anything, trade, delist. Retire
Don't really care, for 35 years I've watched us 1000 Eawards types, always get there hands on the pill, but can't do anything constructive with it. It's time to stop these types wearing our jumper.
Don't love the player, love the jumper.
Players like Edwards are why we have been crap for so so long!

Worst day of this season was the day my membership arrived. I love seeing the player on the front. Last year I had Jack. This year I have Shane......... *instant fail*
I have yet to use it at a game and prefer to buy tix as I hate showing it to anyone, I'm too embarrassed

There is no way we will trade Edwards for a 3rd-rounder in this draft. Not a chance. And the bolded is pretty much Edwards' strength.

Agree with that. Edwards gets a raw deal on here. He does the shank the odd kick and no-one likes that but his positives are very useful to the team. I am sure the errors and composure problems can be ironed out. I am backing the coaching staff in here. Last year it was not as much an issue, jsut wondering why this year these errors have re-appeared.

Zakahris (21yrs) is ten times the player Edwards is. And that really hurts me saying that because Any Essendon player makes me sick.

I must admit Disco to being bemused as to how you can see so much virtue in Tambling and Hislop but not in Edwards.

I see a huge amount of virtue in Tambling, in the form of the compensatory 1st round selection we got for him.

Hislop, I am not so sure about.
