Shane Edwards

Re: Shane Edwards (Merged)

The reason a coach loves this guy is because he works hard both ways. Sure he has his flaws but he's no bludger.
Maybe he needs an upgrade skills wise but we need more players with his work rate.

Re: Shane Edwards (Merged)

Top marks for today's game.
He really set the scene with his tackling in the first half.
His goal in the last was a highlight.

That's exactly right. I despaired of his kicking a few weeks back but the fact is if he gets that right he's a good player.

Where was this 10 rounds ago?

Another good one today from a serial late season contract saver. They're the worst kind of duds because they continue fooling us with just enough glimpses to keep them clogging the list for yet another year. Classic smoke and mirrors hack. The club should have a special medal struck for the likes of Edwards, they can call it "The Tambling Medal"

Re: Shane Edwards (Merged)

No typical clangers tonight. For whatever reason seemed more assured in decision making and skills. Weird cos it was hot potato stuff most of the night. Hard to believe that goal went through.

Re: Shane Edwards (Merged)

Excelent game! He certainly has no fear! That tacle in the first?quater on the demon streaming towards goal was awesome! He should spend the pre seasoN working endlessly on his kicking then he could be quite special

Re: Shane Edwards (Merged)

Not sure what game people were watching but Edwards didn't hit a target with his first 10 disposals. He clearly runs his guts out but is a total liability with the ball. His goal was great, all the more because his attempts typically don't go close.

Last week I asked on here if someone could name one player who has saved his spot on the list by playing well at the end of the season . I am yet to hear of one . As far as Titch is concerned his best season was undoubtedly 2010 and he played his best football in the middle of the year and tailed off towards the end . He doesn't need to play well at the end of the season this year to save his career as he is contracted for 2012 .
Not sure what Tambling has to do with it , he never played well at the end of the year to save his career either .
But hey don't let the facts get in the way of a good rant .

Re: Shane Edwards (Merged)

IF and thats a big IF, he can learn to dispose of the ball better under pressure he will have a future at this level.
Tries hard but too often lets himself down with his kicking.

Exactly. I thought his kicking in the first half was horrible.

Can't question the guy's endeavour, but my god he makes some horrible mistakes when he kicks the ball.

Isn't Edwards already contracted for next year?

Re: Shane Edwards (Merged)

No one can question his work ethic or his ability to get the ball. I just hope if he is on the list next year that he is made to work heavily on his kicking. He would benefit from some mentoring in that area.

Keep it up Shane, trade value's increasing by the week.

if only, but our management will ignore 5 seasons of mediocrity and reward him with a 3 yr extension.
