Shane Edwards

Re: Shane Edwards (Merged)

Shane tuck! Geeeeez are you kidding? Sign him for another 2 years! He's last bunch of games have been totally great! His clangers r no worse than anyone elses, just that his get singled out whereas others get ignored! Fact! Plus we need a few older guys around like tuck and miller whilst our 15 or more younger guys get some experince and game time! Putting tuck down is just plain ridiculous!

Re: Shane Edwards (Merged)

Edwards showed why he should be on trade/delist list today.
With only 4 kicks, 10 handballs and 57% efficiency.
When the game was there to be won in the last he missed Farmer with a handball coming out of the backline which went straight to the Kangas.

The handball came from Diesel Farmer and Rioli Edwards fumbled.
Very ordinary footballer! 5 years of average football, another who can visit the Table, "The Trade Table"

Re: Shane Edwards (Merged)

Edwards was vibrant today IMO. When no other Tige could impose himself on the game in the first 15 minutes Edwards was everywhere.

Slow. Light. A bit dumb. But wants to play football and hits it with everything.

A definite keeper.

If we ever got to the stage when Edwards was our 21st player we would win a flag.

not good enough. delist

I really wanted this bloke to turn it around this year, but he just plays like a 1st gamer every game.
His biggest problem is he has no composure, runs around like a headless Chook.
Tries hard, but really is he any better then R.Tambling?

His disposal efficiency over the year has been relatively good, 71%. Problem is his howlers are howlers. I reckon I'd be trading a few out before Edwards though. I'd give him another year.

What do you mean turn it around this year? It was a non-issue last year where he had a good year and was our most improved. People have short memories.

Re: Shane Edwards (Merged)

keep him he has some tricks and spark about him. 5 other to go before him so can't do all that in one year.

Re: Shane Edwards (Merged)

IMO; over the last 2 years Edwards has improved from a "making up the numbers until we get someone better" to being a genuine AFL Footballer.

I agree with the previous comment "If we ever got to the stage when Edwards was our 21st player we would win a flag." - well at least be a top 4 contender.

He was bagged for only 14 possesions last game. 12 Richmond players had fewer possions in that game! keep him until our stocks are so rich that the rest of the team out-perform him.

Re: Shane Edwards (Merged)

I would consider a trade, but calls for his delisting is ridiculous. He was good in 2010 I will back him in to find that form again.

Re: Shane Edwards (Merged)

Don't mind him at the moment, think he was showing some OK form in the last month or so, worth persisting with. 2012 make or break and more footy cliches that I can't be bothered typing.

He has been Richmond good, that means he plays well once every 5 weeks.
He has some good, but still alot of bad.
If they do keep him, he has too go up a level or good night!

Re: Shane Edwards (Merged)

Destined. His kicking technique is poor. Can't really fix that at his age.
