Just a thought. I have allways greatly admired Brad Johnson as a player.

With Tuck looking like he is improving again is he a new Brad Johnson but with a rubbish haircut. He marks well, outstanding at winning the ball and is starting to kick a few goals. If he does live up to the early signs of improvement then he could easily turn into a Brad Johnson, a difficult player to mark up on, damaging if he is closer to goal because of his ability to get the football either on the ground or in the air.

He has a fair way to go (needs to keep improving and get to fairly legendary levels as far as fitness and consistency) but seems to be showing some signs.

Two very different players for mine. Tucky's an inside midfielder, whereas Johnson's the more silky outside receiver type.

Tuck needs to improve his kicking big time not in the same class as Johnson.

I would say Johnson has to improve his ball getting ability to be in the same class as Tuckie ;D :rofl

i think johnston has been the most underated player of the past 10 years. he's a superstar. if i could pick my dream 22 afl players he would be in it. if lucky tucky is half the player johnno is he be a star

Spot on Ian. TW used to rave about him when he was head honcho at Whitten Oval. Claimed he would kick 75+ for the entire season.  Brad Johnson is the complete footballer for someone under six foot. Underrated mark and has a great understanding of body on body marking, a lost art.  Tucky is a long way from Johnno but a serviceable footballer none the less.

Saw an interesting thread on another forum.
"Who would you prefer B Johnson or NG Brown?" assuming both were fit.

Obviously I went for Browny but it was a tough one. Johnson is a tremendous player.

Johnson is a great player and has been for a long time. All class. Tuck is a very different player; an inside onballer as opposed to a finishing midfielder/goalkicking forward.

Tuck will never have the sheer class of Johnson but as a tough inside onballer I think he has a lot to offer RFC for many years.

Johnson is also a great kick for goal. Not sure that Tucky is that good, but I love him just the same for his toughness and determination.

No No No...Take the Western Buldogs out of the equation...Brad Johnson is in the elite bracket of AFL footballers.
A match winner, with class.

I would have thought Tuck was more like Scott West than Brad Johnson. Both the dogs boys are superstars though over a long period - Tucky has much more to do to favour comparably. Handy start though.
