PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

Ok I will probably get flamed for this and I think it has been discussed briefly before but here goes.

Shane Woewodin will be footloose and fancy free this year. Just turning 29 the guy knows how to play and even this season has produced good form from time to time but seems to have struggled a bit from injury.

If taken at the absolute end of the draft (or in the December draft) for a cheap as chips contract I would like to see him come to Tigerland. Unlike some neverwazzes I've seen Woewodin take out Koutafides in his prime. As a run with tagger to replace the O.P. Chaffey he may really be worthwhile. Particularly if we can support him a little bit and get him enthusiastic about his footy again.

Its a risk but so was Graham and he did well for one year. If we do get aggressive at trade time then we will have the room. In my opinion ex-champions like Woewodin if set limited targets and if the body is right then the mind will come right with the body. Naturally if his body is stuffed (like James) then it is opera clap time as another Brownlow medallist retires.

Naturally a one year contract only.
