Who was Neil Craig...............

& Despite the jealousy from PRE'ers Clarkson was also plucked from obscurity & has set the foundations for future Hawk success.

Especially when the Force prefers Connolly who has traded away most of Freo's early picks during his tenure & achieved nothing.

Bailey may or may not make a good/great coach, would think it's far far too early to tell us "he wont last long" on the basis you "knowing nothing" about him.

I know who Bailey is for god's sake (how do you find 'sarcastic' emoticon on here ;D)

It's only my opinion Leysy. Sorry if it bothers you.

Not at all Forceskin, not at all.

Connolly knows Melbourne and I reckon they could do with a hardnut coach by now.

Fair enough, I just dont rate him. He's Ok as a spruiker as he gets along with the media.

He's not a hard coach, at least not at Freo. The players walked all over him, which was his undoing in the end.

Freo players walked all over every coach they've had since 1995 and are fast becoming the Richmond of WA as far as coach stability goes.
very much like richmond what connolly lasted almost 6 yrs now how many did dudley do.

C'mon claw man, Connolly did well for a few years especially last year.

Connolly sucks TF.
Given every advantage. Great list of players.
Has done very little despite this and Freo were right to flick him.

Tigers of Old,
And I think Freo knew it too....that's why they went after Harveu as assistant, so they had a ready-made coach to jump straight into the seat when Connolly stuffed it.

It's also interesting that it was a unanimous decision by the Melbourne committee to choose Bailey, so obviously Sheedy isn't as great as people on here were making out he is.

If he isn't good enough for Melbourne, a club that suffers more than us for gaining memberships...a club with no media-savvy players (heck, least we have Browny and Richo getting their mugs on The Footy Show), and a club that is supposedly struggling financially........then why the hell are people wanting Sheedy back at Richmond??? ???

Re: Sheedy misses out

I wouldn't have a clue why Sheedy wasn't selected as Melb's coach Livers, perhaps he didn't even really want it for all we know. Your comments about Melbourne's membership and why people want Sheeds back at Richmond in some form ignore the fact that Sheeds is considered by many to be half yellow and black and that some of our supporters would buy a membership if he came back in some form. I don't know if that would be the case, and either do you, but the thought certainly has merit. Sheeds has no emotional ties or memories of better days to MFC and it's supporters. A very different situation.

Spot on, Rosy!

Just heard the Great Man (Tom Hafey, of course) talking on local ABC to the best chat host going - Dave Lennon, a mad, mad Tiger fan - and TH wants Sheedy back at Richmond in any capacity.

"I've been waiting a hundred years for his return!" quoth the GM.

If it's good enough for No. 18, then I guess ol' Growl can live with it.

They might as well appoint Sheedy as coach now as Wallets is just another Frawley clone
who gets deluded with a few cheap wins at seasons end!!!
Seems to quickly forget the list he put together is pitiful and another spoon next year is
just about a dead certainty!!!!
Sack the dud now!!!!!

Nah, thats just horsecrap.

Wallace made alot of hard decisions this year and bleed the young at the expense of us getting another position 9 on the ladder.

The future is bright and we have wallace as one to thank for that.

You ferals get all excited about a few cheap, meaningless wins at the end of the season.
Were were your dud superheroes when the heat was on earlier in the season???
It will be just another year of shattered dreams for the ferals next year, with Fonzie Wallace
as coach, who just doesnt get it!!
Like his predessor Frawley, he gets deluded with late season victories with the same old senior losers at the helm
and its Happy Days for him again!!!
Ultimately, they will cost him his job!!!!
Sack the dud!!!!!

Dont call me a feral, not only does it make you look like you have no class - but also an individual with no control.
"Where" were my superheros ? Lets see, there is Richo, Bowden, Johnson, King, Tuck and Browny. If you say they had bad years, you would need a CT scan.

I am sorry that you are a so called richmond fan and you cant see the great players coming through. If you like this negative always half empty attitude - go be a Carlton supporter. They will have you with open arms.
Please dont refer to me, ask me questions or quote me in future, you are not worth my brain impulses.

If only we could sack the dud supporters.

Only one of the previous coaches, MB?

Does anybody know if Michael Voss is likely to become an assistant coach next year anywhere ?

You would hope he does the job as assistant otherwise he is in exactly the same boat next year experience wise. The only problem is if you took him on, would a senior coach have to keep looking over his shoulder.

I read what you say mate but all I hear is blah blah blah!!!
The law of odds say that at some stage you're bound to say something constructive, intelligent or insightful!!!

Think he's just staying in the media and thinking about it again next year.

Hypothetical scenario:

Lets say Voss enters the coaching arena next year as an assistant somewhere. Wouldnt be out of the realms of possibility.

Lets say Sheedy goes off and does his Freo thing... or AFL thing.... or whatever next year. Pretty much a reality.

Lets say we have another bad year e.g. bottom 3 or 4. Pretty much a reality.

What chance then that in 2009, Kevin Sheedy is appointed Almighty Lord of Everything Football at Richmond, and that he is given the task of reviewing and possibly appointing a new coach and then mentoring and advising that new coach thereforth ?

What chance of that happening and his Master's Apprentice being one Michael Voss ?

Sh*t I think I've just started a rumour ! Haaaaaaargh haaaaaaargh haaaaaaaargh haaaaaargh !
