shock horror Terry might have got it right

its not the number of players that we get rid of Ian its the type of players we replace them with

where are our hard bodied genuine footy smarts players??

Connors, Foley. And just in terms of footy smarts Casserley, Edwards, Cotchin.... As I've said before with the last 2 drafts we seem to be on a better track. With Craig Cameron this can only get better and more structured.

In my profession the use of words to convey a particular intent is important. Just for the record, the title of this thread does not state that Wallace HAS got it right!
in my profession nothings important bar the end result.
going by the way you have made excuses and defended everything wallace i would say you do indeed think wallace has got it right. ive been thru the entire thread you defend and argue with everyone who points out what wallace has got wrong. yet you find an out and pretend you dont agree with wallace by useing the word might.
cmon mate you either think hes got it right or you dont which is it. knowing the long winded non commital reply i will get ill give you an out. do you think hes got more right than wrong or vice versa and what percentage .
you start a thread and then sit on the fence. you instigated the thread put up or shut up has he got it right or not.
you know where i stand i think hes got it wrong or a large percentage anyway probably 80% wrong.i also give my reasons why i think hes got it wrong you obviously disagree with me cmon tell us why you thinkim so wrong.

as i said 25 yrs of the same mistakes and you prattle on about living in the past and history has no relevance. you are typical of those who ignore history. fail to learn historys lessons and you are doomed to make the same mistakes as those who have gone before. sounds like a certain club i know.

anyway go put your head back where the sun dont shine and pretend all is well i couldnt give a toss.ive had enough of excuse makers.

How is what Allan Jeans did, or Northey did, or Bartlett did relevant to the topic at hand? Just bloody hysteria.

Who's making excuses for Wallace. If you read what I am saying its the reverse. I've got my problems with some things that he has done which has been set out above. I dont think the list is in dire shape and I think the recruiting last two years has been good. To the extent that we have soft spots in the list, I note there are legitimate viewpoints that Wallace could have done more and recruited different types. My opinion is that those concerns to the extent that they are valid are overblown and exagerated in the overall scheme of life.

But the "we are crap (and we'll come last) coz we've always been crap line is as stupid as we're champs (and we'll win the flag) coz we've won 10 flags line.

And I aint apologising for being considered and rational in my arguments (nor for any stupid ill considered predictions I am likely to make)

considered and rational ha.i wont go there i dont went to be any rudr than i have already been. anyway you started the thread tell us all what percentage do think wallace has got right.

Does that mean that the remaining that the remaining 37.0275% comes when he "dumps" Richardson, Tivendale, Johnson and Bowden?

Wallace wont get it right and he wont experience long term sustained success....because he has no freaking idea!

Yep years end. The fact you called it "Terry might have got it right" will be very amusing if he is gone.

And the fact that a few of your so called KP prospects may be gone will make it very amusing.

Will be interesting to see who does get the laugh Scoop.
One way or another someone is going to get *smile* hung on them at seasons end.
Brightsider or Darksider. Brightsider or Darksider. Season 08 is the pivot point for our next five years.

oh what a load of absolute shiiite. the next 3 or 4 yrs are going to be ordinary. how we go about things over the next 2 or 3 yrs may determine if we make finals in 2011 2012. ;)

Ummmm let me see now Claw.
It's the start of 2008 and the next three or four years are going to be *smile*. 2008 - 2009 - 2010 - 2011. Yet it's only going to be two or three years to see if we are going to maybe make finals in 2011 or 2012.
You've either confused yourself Claw or you're having fifty cents each way without telling yourself.
My point of comment about this year being a pivot point for the next five years is simple.
Guys like Richo, Johnno, Simmonds, Brown, Bowden and Tivva are at the point of their careers that there is no improvement to come, only a gradual decline to retirement.
The young players Lids, Bling, Polack, Thursty, Raines, Polo, Mcguane, Jacko, King, Schulz, Moore etc. must start to take over the reins during this season as legitimate consistent senior players.
If the players in this range stagnate or go backwards then not only do we need to replace them but also the seniors as they fade at the same time. If this happens we will be in shitters ditch for easily the next five years.
If most of these younger players also pick up the mantle and the Conners, Casserlies, Steamies, Riewoldts and Edwards also progress then the club will be reasonably competitive going forward and a shot at playing finals probably 2010 onwards.
