Who should be captain in '08?
Whilst much of the debate has centred around the old guard, my votes gone to Nathan Foley.
- Our best player.
- Hungry.
- Youthful.
- Hard worker.
- Untainted.
- Sets the example.
IMO Nathan Foley should be the next captain of the RFC with Deledio VC.
Axel is a gun and Wallace should reward his incredible determination with the leadership of the RFC.
Forget the old brigade.
There are reasons most of them were passed over when Sugar was annointed.
The club should make a statement that this truly is Generation Next and appoint the most exciting midfielder this club has had in years to the captaincy. A few years ago I suggested Cogs for the same reasons but injury have unfortunately stalled his career. Foley's now the man.
At the very least Foley should be part of the senior leadership group, perhaps part of a trio rotation system.
However I'd like to see him given the role outright and have the chance to grow into it when success genuinely returns to this footy club.
