What happen to JM in being bombed in comparison to a bloke who didn't look before crossing an intersection are two completely different things.

Of course they are mel but the theme of recovery against the odds from tragic incidents away from the playing field is the same, even if the incidents that occurred leading up to them aren't.

mccartney played 96 games with the roos over 6 yrs, including a premiership.
polly has played 33 games with us. big difference.

However I do agree with the notion that McCartney gave more to the Roos than Polak has is a valid point.

lets not risk his health for a farewell game.

If his health is still a genuine concern then he shouldn't be playing football at all. He could just as easily cop a serious knock for the Coburg 2nds.

I am not set on it but I do think it would be good PR for the club.

No to a farewell game. I think there are other ways in this situation to show your appreciation to a player. The Tigers have done the right thing by Polly and should be commended for that. I am sure it has immensely helped his rehabilitation.

Said all that need to be said Goody :clap

Dunno mate, just to me, I feel a hell of alot more sorry for JM than I do Polak.

Not that I don't wish Graham all the best luck in the world, but would we give an undeserved farewell game to someone retiring due to an on field knee injury for instance? I doubt we would.
