Should RFC go North ?

Here's a question.

AFL come to us, with an offer.

No more home games at Telstra

3 homes games at Gold Coast

Guaranteed $400k per game

Do we take it?
Interesting T. So many post here about telstradump etc. Hmmm $1.2m in the kitty. potential sponsors, memberships, brand exposure.........wait for it....

I wouldn't take it, because I think being bottom of the ladder with $1m profit we are on the way up. Moving games from Melbourne would weaken our brand.

I tend to agree, but when you look at what the Hawks have done, and how we fail to fire at the Dome it is an interesting question.

It is an interesting question. I decided that once successful it would be easier to move games back to G from games at the Dome rather than games interstate.

In like Flynny!

Give me an excuse for a holiday.

My wife would love us to alternatively play one home game per year in London, Paris, New York or Tokyo.

Tokyo Tigers!

How do we resist though the inevitable push by the AFL to go the next step?

Only thing is though, if a 17th club is coming it could be a nice earner for 3-4 years.

Make it ANZ(ex Telstra) Stadium in Sydney and go for it full bore

If we're drawn to play against Norf or the Brions in FarNorthVictoria, we should of course go there, cos we don't want to forfeit the 4 points :P

With the amount of dollars the Dawks get for going to Tassie, 400 large is not large enough.
With the extra T.V. exposure and marketing available I wouldn't have a problem with the Tiges filling the gap until a 17th club or a nomad wandered into a permanent position.

Dare say $400k is dictated by the ground size (sub 20k)
