PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

Just wondering does anyone know if Richmond has ever done anything to try and get an Easter Friday match happening? Collingwood and Essendon have a sweet set up with their so-called 'traditional' ANZAC day clash. It seems to me that Friday presents an amazing opportunity to create something just as good.

The most obvious partner in any approach to the AFL with would be Carlton. Both have a tremendous historical rivalry with each other, both are 'Big Four' clubs, and both would love to shove it up the Pies and the Bombers. And needless to say it could be coupled with the Good Friday appeal and scheduled in the late afternoon or evening not to conflict with Church services. I know North Melbourne approached the AFL ages ago but it never got off the ground, but has Richmond ever pushed it? Would love to know, and also get opinions if others think it's a good idea - personally I think the Tigers and the Blues are crazy if they have never made the effort.
