The number 12 should not of played on Sunday, a player of his age should of been rested period.

It started with back spasms weeks ago, and it'll finish with his retirement at the end of the year.
The sky is falling ... the sky is falling!

Hopper, think about it..............did TW really think he would win the game yesterday? Absolutlely not! Then why risk it with the best forward the club has had in a decade. ;) This isn't chicken little stuff my man, it's pure logic to sustain the big fella from getting injured, unfortunately WE got shafted.

Geez Geoffrey, I think you need to get out and smell the flowers a little.

Re: Richardson Only out for 2 weeks

Richo should rest for the next four weeks....while he is at it, he should try to drop 3-4kgs - he is massive and no doubt this would not help his hammys when running flat out....

Good news. Now give him 4 weeks, just to be on the safe side.

It was pleasing to see Richo take himself off.In years gone by he may have tried to play through it.

Any other course of action would be silly.

We are stuffed without the big unit, in real trouble.

I don't agree with that. Injury creates opportunity and other players are forced to step into the void.
We've won plenty of times without him. Statistically even more so over the course of his career.
We have to get this club used to the fact that he won't be around forever.

Agreed but with this side if he doesn't kick 60-75 this year we will struggle big time.

And with Richo out let's just chuck Evo' s boy in the square and let him have three weeks of being the focal point. Cut out all this CHB crap with Richo out.

Put Sarge and Steamer at one end and Luke Mcguane at the other and I really dont care about results for the next three weeks.

Damn, diamond rings and gold make it hard to type.

You got me.

Re: Richardson Only out for 2 weeks

The media have done their level best to beat this up into something much bigger than it really is. The way they've been carrying on you would think he'd done a knee.

Great observation Wozza, I pointed that out to a few fellow tiger friends of mine. Richo last year during pre-season was a very lean mobile looking unit compared to this year, he is carrying a little more body weight.

I'm not sure whether there is a reason behind (scratching my head).

Maybe I should go out and sniff the flowers. :o

How's the media carrying on CTT?

Spot on... rest with plenty of bike work to maybe lose 5 to 6 kgs imo

Have to agree to disagree then, gpb. I think we could have played Richo on the weekend or left him out. Each argument had merit. Facts are he'd done all the work and is just as likely to have twinged the hammy in R1 of the season proper. But let's remember that - it's a twinge. But gpb, I certainly don't see imminent retirement as a consequence of this minor setback. That reference is where the chicken little crack came from. I don't see that we shafted ourselves or mismanaged anything. Trusting soul I am, eh?! The big fella will be there for r1.

Re: Richardson Only out for 2 weeks

So if we rested him then he wouldn't have reached peak fitness for Round 1 and would still be vulnerable to a soft tissue injury, but then also risk missing games during the season proper!! :headscratch

Sorry can't see any logic in that arguement at all.

Re: Richardson Only out for 2 weeks

Richmond should just see if they can cancel there preseason games until rd 1, no point playing on hard water starved grounds risking injury to healthy players. Plus theres no reward in it for the clubs and the players. but that would'nt be the tiger spirit.

Re: Should Richo have played?

comon guys, he was having these hammy/back/BUM spasms 3 weeks ago and he rox up for this practice game....

i would have only given him 2 matches b4 rnd one....thats all he needed

now he will be luck to get one

I agree. Very unlike Collingwood players, who are coached by Mick to always pull themselves off.
