I know this has probably been brought up before, but after watching last nights shocker I think that Richo when he went back into to help out adds a bit of stability and leadership in the backline. We have shown before when Richo doesn't play (injured) that we can score a lot of goals without him. The forward line would then consist of Brownie, Sarge, Tampling and our new FF for the future Cleeve Hughes.

Yes l couldn't agree more Acker. Dont get me wrong l love Richo like my own child, but l do not understand how the most unreliable kick in footy can be played at full forward through so many coaching administrations.
His size, his atleticism his dog at the beach enthusiasm make him a natural CHB

I was thinking exactly the same thing re Richo. His kicking can let him down a lot. Let him roam free in the back line. He's best when he's mobile. If only a number of other players in the team showed the same determination as him. Those other players should be ashamed of themselves. Is it too much to ask to put in?

Whilst we are talkin about our backline....i think its fair to say the modern games is rapidly passing the Gas and Chub....im not being harsh ...i love both blokes and they have been magnificent servants for this club for years now. However the time of lumbering, unskillful backlines are dead and burried. I think Gas is still worthy of a spot..however i would like to see a backline that features... Sarge, Moore, Thurstfield, McGuane as the quick talls and Harts, Raines, meyer, jacko,Casserly, JON even roachy as running backs. I would love TW to just say boys get the ball....run with the ball and play with instinct and dont feel pressured...play ur natural game and help eachother at every opportunity.....im sure he does say that.......... but a backline of Gaspar, Kellaway, Bowden,P.Bowden on occassions and newman just doesnt seem to cut it.

Richo give 120% every time he plays for the Y&B, yes you are right when you say he's kicking lets him down but that is only true when kicking for goal. He can spot someone 50m away coming out of the backline or from the wing and hit them on the chest with it 90% of the time. With Richo playing in the backline it also adds a bit of strength, lets face it we are not the strongest team running around the park. As for Gas he shouldn't be allowed past the 50m defence line, his decision making and kicking is shocking.

I agree to a point 8ball.With Thursfeild coming along nicely Chubba,s position at least in the starting 18 is under threat[which is a good thing in terms of fighting for your position].On the other hand Gas and Chubba wont have to encounter a fwd line like the one they were up against last night.
