I know this may have been done before and I apologise if it has, but it just p%@#%es me off!
Can you imagine the up roar if Richo was to be captain for a year because John'o has a career ending injury.
What would they do then? Force him to wear the N0. 17?
All those kids wearing No. 12 (and big kids) would be quite rightly distraught.
It wouldn't look right on him for starters.
So why should they change!
Just becasue someone says we have to have tradition (I believe it was Wallace) but at what cost.
What about all those other great captains of yesteryear, it's a slight on them that one captain's number was chaosen over theirs.
If you go down this path why not make the No 1 ruckman always wear No. 1
But where would it stop.
What about Vice captains - what numbers should they wear!
The best forward should he wear no. 12?
By doing this we are not honouring tradition but are trying to manafacture it - which is wrong.
What are your thoughts?
