Should we convince stafford to stay another year?

Even though he is still our best pure ruckman he just doesn't seem to have the desire to play any more. I would still prefer Stafford to Knobel as every part of his game is better, but that just means both should go. I would be very happy if the rumoured trade for Wood from Brisbane came through though, as I believe he will be player as soon as he bulks up a bit.....make that a lot.

Nah, Staff's finished.

Been good for us, but he can't get off the ground in the centre anymore and we need to develop other forward options next season.

Glad to see him finishing off on a good note.

Not as a player but I reckon he might hang around in some sort of coaching role - perhaps even at another club.

Yeah JB he comes across as an impressive individual.
I reckon that's half the reason TW has given him as many opportunities as he has.

Listen to him & Andrew Raines on Club Corner last night here.

Honestly, with knobel an unknown quantity at this point and patto clearly at least 2 years away from cutting the mustard in the ruck, if we fail to get a backup ruckman for simmo next year should the club try and persuade stafford to go another season? He looked quite good on the weekend and we could use him to exploite short backlines like carltons next year and throw him in the ruck to give simmonds a breather.
A bit late for april 1 jokes IITB

Our ruck stock is good enough without Staffo. To be a better side in years to come, we must strengthen our backline (KPP) and boost our midfielders. That's where we are heading with regards who stays, who we pick, etc.

No.

Has got the most out of himself as his body would allow in 06. One more season would be 1 too many.

Can exit with dignity round 22 this year in front of a home crowd. :clap

Love the guy to bits, but I think it is time to pull the pin!

See ya Staff, for a long time you were a light in a dark passageway....

Diggler. You have been told. However i respect your opinion. (Strange to see Richo_12 has stayed right away from commenting on one of his favourite sons)

Sign Stafford and Hall to 5 year contracts before other clubs try to poach them.

We are after all resigning our best young talent.

They are definitely lynch-pins in Terry's plans.

I counted one Claw, so that should read

'unbelievable that a feral wants to keep him on the list.'

no disrespect to staff, but if we keep players like staff on our list, who are we going to delist this year? he's been a good servent but it's time to move on...

someone will correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't staff wanna retire last year and gm convinced him to play one more year?
