I don't know what shredder is Michael but I regularly use SpyBot and also Lavasoft Adaware which the Microsoft technicians suggested I download even though it's not their program.

Have you tried Adaware Michael?

http://www.lavasoft.com/

Another thing the Microsoft techs got me to do when I had a similar problem was to go to Run in the start menu and type in msconfig then the startup tab and uncheck any dodgy looking things that were ticked there.

Michael,

You can be forever trying to get rid of popups and no matter how many times you run adaware or spybot they will keep coming back. This is because they hide deep within the registry and quite often regenerate themselves after they have been supposedly removed. I would stop using Internet explorer and install Mozilla Firefox as your browser of choice. Firefox doesn't have all the vulnerabilities that IE has so popups and dialers won't occur. http://www.mozilla.org I have fully tested it with PRE and it works a treat.

Also make sure you are not running freeware P2P programs like Kazaa and Morpheus as they have spyware and popup generators built in by default. WinMX is one of the few that don't have this side effect. http://www.winmx.com

In a nutshell, Spybot and adaware are band aid solutions and will never fix the problem. Run mozilla firefox and you can kiss popups goodbye!.

Hope that helps and let me know how you go.
