Not sure about anyone else, but I've notcied that this whole Polak saga has the Simmonds deal written all over it. IMO, for all those people worrying about losing tuck, cogs or pick8, i can guarantee you all that they will all be at punt rd in 2006. We are dumb, but that dumb. It's just Millers little master plan coming back for an encore. We dangle a few treats at their eyes, only to withdraw every time they are about to bite. They will start to get frustrated, at our lack of co-operation, and Polak nagging at them to get a deal done. But we keep that pick8 on the table, to keep the other ferals away. At 1 oclock tomrrow they'll be sweating over the fact, that they'll have to discard him via PSD. Until Greg comes along and says, our Krak over here is worth more than you giving him away for nothing. They take, we get. Simple simple.

I hope you are right#7 and to some extent I think that you are however not sure that the deal (take the years out of it) will be as good as the Simmonds one. If it is as good then all the talk about Miller's reputation be it good or bad will be blown to the scheissenhausen. Miller's reputation is fine anyway because like I alluded to in another thread, he just acts on bloody instructions anyway. It is his job to negotiate and on the most part (particularly post Frawley, he has done it very well imho).

Excactly right Harro. Terry has to approve before anything. However, sorry i didnt mention this, but I wasnt saying that Polak would be as good as Simmonds.

If Freo panick about losing Polak for nothing, we could yet offer to swap our second and fourth round draft picks with them. Freo would then be ahead of WC, after WC gained on Freo the 2nd and 4th picks for trading McDougall.
It certainly seems a win for Richmond, and would be much better than nothing for Freo.

its true Tiger7......same thing every yr..... Miller will wait on this until the final hour. This trade will get done for a good price i would think. I also think one or two other deals might spring to life in the closing hours tmrw. Perry to Richmond being one and posibbly Hartigan to the bombers.

I somehow don't think we'll get him for next to nothing. Clubs seem to be willing to lose a player to the preseason draft if it means they don't look like soft targets for future trade periods. The classic example is the Port/ Nick Stevens situation. According to Pelchen (?) from Hawthorn, who was at Port at the time, Port decided to stand firm on the Stevens trade for this very reason. Then the following year, when Fremantle wanted Josh Carr, they traded him for Freo's 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks.

I would think that Freo have been dudded ( ;D ) too many times at the trade table to pay what they'd consider to be way  under the odds for Polak. Anyway, if the deal falls through, and we end up keeping pick 8 (I know you're up there big fella, please let it be so!), maybe, just maybe we'll end up with Thorp, and I for one, will be turning cartwheels in my living room.

Hope you're right t7, that is what I would like to see happen if TW has his heart set on Polak.

Pick 8 was on traded for to the lions for hilton

Pelchen is a di_k, playing the hard ball imagine. He's been so lucky that dumb North have met his offer with Hays. Now everything must be first draft pick. In Everitt's case, a player only offered one year, in his early 30's , hawthorn still wants the other team's first draft pick.

Hope Everitt, Thornton, Polak, and a few others go in PSD.
