Richmond ruckman Troy Simmonds is the central player in a plot to disrupt West Coast’s preparation for their round 22 encounter at the MCG this weekend, according to a source close to the All-Australian hopeful.
“He’s planning to bring back some of his snakes that have remained in Western Australia since his days as a Fremantle Docker,” the source revealed. “And he’s booked them onto the same flight as the Eagles this week.”
Eagles coach John Worsfold became snaky with reporters when told about Simmonds’ plan. “I want those *smile* snakes off that *smile* plane!” he said before storming into the Subiaco changing rooms.
Former Eagles captain Ben Cousins was likewise alarmed. “The only thing that makes me run faster than a Booze Bus is snakes on a plane,” he said.
But out of favour ruckman Michael Gardiner was unperturbed by the prospect of venomous snakes on the Eagles’ plane. “I won’t be on that plane,” he said, “but Dean Cox and Mark Seaby will be.”
