Time for a positive thread.

Credit where it's due.

This guy has really stood up the last two weeks. :clap

He's done a fantastic single handed job in the ruck against some huge odds and really stamped himself as our premier ruckman building on his form there late last season.

Previously I've been as critical of Simmo as anyone but his last two games have been tremendous. I've been extremely impressed with his work rate in defence and he's imposing his physicality in a way rarely seen previously. He kept big Cox very honest last night. No mean feat.

Keep it up Troy!

He's been a more than adequate replacement for Ottens and an absolute steal in the trading stakes. Well done Troy :clap

Absoloutely agree TOO, and I must say, if you go back and have a look at the replay of even R1, Simmo was 1 of about 2-3 players who could actually hold their head up and say "I gave my best"

Simmo has been fantastic for us this year so far. Once we get Knobel back to give him some support he will hopefully only get better.

Although his kicking for goal still brings a smile to the face in the same fashion that Richo's does lol

One piece of play last night, they need to lock Tambo/Krak/Rodan etc in a room and play it over and over again to teach them how to do it .... Richo goes up for a mark, ball spills and there is a Tiger at ground level roving .... Who is it? Simmo!!!  :) If only our smalls could do that more often, we'd be a hell of a lot better off!

Thought he was our most important player last night. Well done to the lad I say. Has gone a long way to winning over the Richmond faithful with his efforts. He's gonna need some help (calling Mr.Knobel) to get through the season though.

Good solid work rate by the big man. I was surprised that the journo's never saw his contribution for the night to put him in our best players.

Has certainly showed so far this year he is focused and has his body right to play footabll.

Consistency is what we want to see from this guy, and I'm crossing my fingers he doesn't go cold.

i think i even saw him put a hit on someone last night.

great game by simmo last night against a quality player

Yes absolutely. Ran himself into the ground against the eagle in a solo effort. More than an adequate replacement for the donut man. Looking at nottens performance for geelong makes me even more confident he has been the worst no2 pick in living memory!!! He was just shocking and im sure cats fans will be slowly but surely agreeing with what we've been telling them We picked fiora at 3 though so that makes our decision making at the draft table pretty damn ordinary.

Well done snakeman. Keep up the great work.

i thought he beat cox in the first half. he had a very solid game and was easily in our best 3. knobel is desperately needed to give him a rest and enable him to play in the hole down back with the lack of kpd atm.

spot on claw. thought cox hurt us most we went off the ball and went down forward. Another solid effort by the big no 5. Knobel needs to come back to help him out in th ruck and as you pointed gives us someone to flood down back considering how bad our backs are going.

I too have been a critic of Troys but he has been really good for us keep up the good work mate.

Me too, but in reality he has done what his supposed to be doing, and he does have to keep it up otherwise any good performances will be soon forgotten.
