Re: Simmo's injury

Judging by our past history in managing injuries if we are going to play him round 3 it is more likely that he will be ready about round 7.

TW said he will be ready next week but might play him in the McGoos first and have him ready by Rd 4, please id rather have simmo at 70% match fitness than no simmo at all, its not like knobs or Rookie Gus can come in for him so ill go out on a limb here and say he will play against Scumwood friday week.

He's too good to play in the twos. Bring him straight back, he's too important.

Simmo's injury isn't as horrific as Brown's, but we saw what happened when Brown came straight into the side.

The rehabilitation process for long term injuries must have players having a run for Coburg. We have this culture at our club and with our supporters, that our players are to valuable to run in the 'two's'.

I reckon the effects of TroyBoy's absence has quelled any doubts as to whether he's our MVP or not.

It's left a hole in our side the size of the Grand Canyon. :help

Perhaps, but perhaps it says more about our lack of depth in the position more than anything.

Just a thought but I would have thought if Simo's ankle is a 100% ready to play football, at any level, we would be able to use him off the bench as a back up to Pato till fit an leave Polak an co in there normal positions.

Straight back in. Same chance of re-occurrence no matter what standard of footy he is playing.

This is where I wouldnt have minded a bit of spinning an named him in the extended squad, put a bit of hope in to supporters leading in to our first home game i.e membership

I agree that there is as much chance of it recurring in the two's, or even at training, but I also think the main reason to bring him back via Coburg is more to do with match fitness.

Hmm,I think I prefer he was nursed in the magoos against other clubs kids rather than be asked to go up against monsters like Jolly.Everitt and Doyle first up.Even if it is only for a half.

We have to look further out than just one game.Simmo is important to us for the next 5 years.

Even now he seems to be being rushed in to Coburg. He has a history of ankle troubles.I'll be praying like hell he makes it thorugh the coburg game unscathed.

Softly softly.
