Occurred to me that should one be expecting our skipper to come out now on behalf of the players and state to one and all that they as a group are going to do something about the current state of affairs?

It's all well and good for all of us (me included) to throw suggestions, ideas, abuse, tirades at the coach, coaching staff, players, admin etc but most of us here had reasonable expectations for this year and regardless of the 0-3 I think we would all agree that it is the manner in which we have lost that is the most frustrating and causing the most angst with the club.

I think it might be time for our skipper to come out on the front foot and tell us what the players are intending to do about it. Not from the coach, as we've heard all of that before.

I bagged the decision at the time, but I have been pleasantly surprised that Newman has elevated his game with his new responsibilities as captain. No one else has though.

I don't want show. I want substance.

Obvious LTRTR but we will have to wait until the next game to see substance, tomorrow might be good to see a show from the skipper on behalf of his group

Well I'm glad someone's seen a change, I haven't yet.

He actually stated after the game we now need to drop blokes who cant kick and make skill errors.

Captains mustnt sit in on selection these days. Bet he doesnt get a vote.

Yeah fair enough mate. I've just got no desire to hear promises or excuses or public blood-letting. Nothing matters except the next game.

Newman's been great as captain. I don't really care if he apologises on behalf of the players or not. I think they tried their guts out today (for at least 3 quarters anyway) and it was the coaching that lost us the game. Maybe he should apologise for Wallace :-\

What good would come from Newman, and the rest of the leadership group standing in front of the cameras, saying this is a team decision, we've made a pact to step up, not good enough for this great club, yada yada yada.
Heard it before.
The captain has no say in team selections, coaching methods, game plans.
Get the coaching staff who recruit and train players who have no foot skills to apologize.

Seems to be a black hole, where any player with any skill gets it sucked out of him.
