It's been mentioned on the Krakouer thread recently by some posters that given his apparent deficiencies aerobically, they see AK as Richmond's specialist small forward in '07.
With the departure of Rodan, the candidates for such a role aren't many at all and seems to come down to:
Krakouer 174cm - Most likely
Tambling 181cm - More effective up the field
Meyer 183cm - Unproven
Brown 183cm - Uncertain
Of those players Krak is significantly the smallest and would seem most suited to such a crumbing role. The negatives are his obvious limitations given his inability to switch onto the ball effectively for sustained periods and his apparent lack of pace. On the positive side he has strengths in his ability to trap the ball, apply pressure and bring other players into the game. He also has a reasonable goal sense although his kicking accuracy is average.
My questions really are these:
Should we be looking to draft another small forward with a late draft pick?
Does the modern game allow the luxury for such a one dimensional role as a specialist crumbing forward?
Who do you see as the best current player on the RFC list to fulfill such a role if it's required at all?
