The spring carnival is a joyous occasion.
I take a week off just to go to all the meetings between Derby day and Emirate Stakes day.
The perfect relaxation tonic after a long season of playing footy (until this year) and precursor to playing cricket during summer.
The post meeting shenanigans after a big collective win have been known for some very memorable nights on the tear.
I'd love to watch the tiges in September though, its becoming manically depressing every passing year without finals action  :'(

can I add that for me it's more sickening continuing to watch non-Victorian teams in the finals and possibly winning the flag.

If WC or Adelaide win, this will be the 5th year in a row (half a bloody decade) :(

Could handle the Swans winning it as both my parents and their families are old diehard South Melbourne fans, but as for the WA and SA clubs....... :flush

Your parents are Swans and you're Richmond ??..............................don't tell me Bubbles, another long story huh? ;D

Not really Farrah Forceskin-Majors, I was too for a short while but when they defected to Sydney,I was free to follow the side who represented my suburb. :)
And before you ask the Heidelberg move was later.

My cousin has also being a South/Sydney swans supporter (for 30 years) and I'll never know how anyone followed that team considering they never won a premiership since Hitler wasn't well known !! :hihi

I'm glad that this thread was a break from the norm and we are all getting some fun out of it.

That was my intention

Rosy what wil you be doing?

The girls?

We plan on attending some pre season training to keep you all up to date on how the boys are looking doing.

Looking forward to the cricket season, a little bit of the Spring Carnival, tennis and Aus Open after Christmas, then should be time for the Gandalf Cup.......

I plan to talk and write footy gossip for about 6 months.

Firstly, who we delisting and trading for.
Secondly, who we are drafting.
Thirdly, how our draftees and trades are progressing.
Fourthly, practice match form, the big improvers.

Then the season starts again, simple really.

I actually love the rubbish that is spoken about in the 'off' season. The best one I heard belongs to Grant Thomas who kept a straight face when speaking about Aaron Fiora as an inside midfielder who had packed on 6kg through attention to his diet.

:rofl

I'm serious - he kept a straight face.

Eat and drink too much, catch up on reading and movies, maybe do my tax for last year and this year. Hang around on PRE to get all the goss, then in the New Year start taking a keen interest in RFC training.

Hang around PRE for the gossip, draft and pre season training.

September I'll be avidly watching the finals. .

October/November is the only time I take an interest in horse racing.

December/January cricket and tennis, Christmas and end of year socialising.

February/March preseason and practice matches, Commonwealth games.

That should keep me occupied.

Thanks to all.

I had such a laugh and smile on my face but seriously its almost the end now. The last game.

Lets smash the CATS

GO Tigersssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

At the end of the telecast on Sunday....

I will be (unless a miracle happens and we make the 8 lol)

1. Planning the 2006 Season
2. Trading Players - I've almost secured a good Eagle for Krak
3. Continuing to have fun on PRE
4. Back to Playing Cricket after the finals series ends (My team has been runners up the last 5 years in a row) - so hoping to win one soon.
5. Backing Horses
6. Drinking Beer
7. Not being nervous the night before we play
8. Dreaming of Nathan Brown and Brett Deledio
9. Gardening
10. Hoping the Grand Final does not involve Bulldogs, Demons, Swans or Cats

Happy 05 >:D

11. Hoping the Donut doesn't make an amazing recovery if Geelong makes the GF.

September  - massage my head and forget the footy
October - relax and follow other sports
November - exercise in the Spring (smell the roses :hihi)
December - start feeling the boredom of cricket which develops a serious disease in me called: Footyitis
January - start suffering a huge pain of Footyitis
February - close to death situation of Footyitis until Wiz Cup starts
March - total recovery of Footyitis

I must remember my doctor's advice of taking those PRE pills for any side-effects. :hihi

PREwise things never really stop gt. On draft day last year we had massive traffic with a record 316 people online at one time and a high numbers leading up to draft day too.

We'll have a finals tipping competition.

The site will need a bit of a face lift and there are a few sections that there hasn't been time to update during the season.

Then PREseason training starts and then before we know it the praccy games and Wizz Fizz are upon us.

There's never a dull moment on PRE.

On personal level I'm hanging out to drive up and visit my brother and his family in Queensland over the festive season. I'll catch up a bit in my sadly neglected garden. Might go fishing. I'll finish painting inside the house...I started months ago but got a bit sidetracked and haven't done any rooms for ages. I also intend to paint one of our shed walls black with a yellow sash.

I hibernate a bit in summer cos I can't stand the heat. Will catch up on reading, drink the odd martini or two, catch up with friends for barbies. My new year's resolution is to actually put some time away to meditate instead of just thinking about doing it.......for some reason it's not very effective that way.

I'll also be waving farewell to my last baby living at home as she leaves to go to uni. :'(
