I just don't understand some of you guys just bagging the club non stop just because we missed the finals this year.   If you all remember, we were WOODEN SPOONERS after all.

There has been so much improvement in the side this year,  which is very encouraging.  TW did say that it will take some time, hence why he wanted a 5year contract.  I know we were thrashed in some games and our performance was not that great,  but overall, in some games that we lost, we were very competitive and that was one of TW's golas this year,  to make the Tigers competitive again.  You look at the games we were playing last year,  and after half time we were non existent in 95% of the time.  There were a few games this year that we could have won, but didn't. I walked away from a few games this year, dissapointed that we lost but I was quite happy because we had a go..... something that was missing from the Tigers in the last 3 years.....  So let's give the Tigers some time and I am sure that very soon, we will once again be a force.

I am sure there will be a few changes at the end of the year and I am also sure that TW knows where those changes need to be made. If it is not 2006 and being realistic, we may or may not make the finals, but 2007 & 2008 we will definitely see a different side.

So relax and just watch this side grow into an awesome force.......    :)

I'm happy with Richmond's result so far.  I predicted 10 wins, if we can beat Geelong, its a further bonus.

Having said that, there are still some deficiencies that require attention.  Hopefully, TW and the gang can make the quick fixes.  What ever happens with trade, draft and delisting, 2005 was a good year.

We crushed the blues (first up), we beat the woods even after they thought the game was theirs, we fixed up Essendon and won against Brisbane.

We kicked scores over 100 points on many occasions, we picked two wonderful young guns and have three to four others waiting for maturity (experience or body development)

We seem to have a game plan A, B, C & D with "What ifs".  Our coaching staff are winners not losers and are forward thinkers.

2006 on beyond are going to be great years for us.

Thanks Soulman,

Nobody likes seeing their team lose and I am no different, but the signs are there for a bright future and that is what counts most.
We can only get better with all the young kids coming through.....

GO TIGES......

Very well summarised No 4.

All we require now is patience for another 2-3 years and watch the team develop.

Agree 100% Mad one. As someone pointed out on another thread, some 'supporters' would still find faults even if we win a premiership. the glass is always half empty kind of people :)

Yesterday's game was great for us supporters. Where else can you see your children delightful smiles or where else can you get your wife jumping up and down, hugging and kissing you after a game like that.

Walking out of the ground, although it was raining, I did catch at the corner of my eye a rainbow, its a great feeling for things to come.

I for one are totally 100% happy with this years results, I think we forget that we won only 4 games last year and really where a poor last. Look at what Plough and the boys have achieved in the space of one season. We have gone from a dour, poorly skilled team, to a attacking side with much improved skills. Out of 21 games, we really have only put in one shocker against a side we really should have beaten (Carlton). This year has given us a taste of an exciting future

There is a long long way to go (considering how far back we have come) we may even go backward in the next couple of seasons as we start correcting our unblanced list (too many youngsters, too many oldies and nothing inbetween) but if this year is anything to go buy, then the journey back to being serious premiership contender is going to be a highly enjoyable and rewarding one. For the first time in 25 years we have a coaching panel that know's what they are doing and where they are taking us.

Yep it's been a good year for the Tiges, I thought 10 wins would be a good year.. and here we are at 10 & agame to go ' wouldn't it be good to smoke the Cats on there own skillet', here's hoping. Black & Yellow I luv' em.
                                                                 ' Go Tiges'  :thumbsup :emblem

At the start of the year I bought into the goal of being competitive: and I think by any measure we have achieved that: in the whole year we had 5 bad losses, In every other game we either won, or were highly competitive(- and perhaps should have won). Importantly there was only one 'heart-breaking' back-slide (Carlton).

The new and younger players have come on well and the rest of the squad know that they are more accountable than before.

We need to improve another 15% tmore than other teams ensure finals next year: and even though we may have laready 'exceeded' expectations this year (ie 'played above ourselves), I believe we have that further improvement is left in us: I thank Wallace for his coaching/managment of the team this year: he has done what he set out to do - Restore Hope. (Carlton game aside! :-\ :P :'( :-X )

There was improvement and encouraging signs. We drafted one genuine superstar (Deledio) and uncovered another gem (Tuck) and we can approach the future with genuine excitement and hope, something that has been missing for far too long. I also felt that the first Port match was one of the best. We came back from a long way behind and midway through the 2nd quarter I think most supporters thought another thrashing was on the cards.

I agree the Port game for me was the highlight of the season (Richo's mark and goal to put us in front WOWWWW) I think that the 2 & 3 quarters was some of the best hard attacking football we have played in decades.

I'm excited about next year already and this year hasn't even finished...

We have won 10 games, maybe 11.....a great improvement on last year.

Plus have missed a few players and still performed ok.....

Looking Forward to it........

Some of the Talent we have unloaded this year can only mean one thing - success

I am really happy with the year so far. Just as some of the wiser heads here predicted, we faded in the second half of the year as the younger bodies tired and became less effective.... and we really missed that Brown fellow too. Nevertheless I think the football department has done a great job of blooding the youngsters while still retaining enough experienced hard bodies in the side to keep us competitive most weeks. TW has done a great job of getting more out of some of our underperformers - great seasons and genuine improvement shown by Pets, Hilts, Hall and others. The last six or so weeks have been very good with the exception of the Carlton game.

I expect the turnover of the playing list to continue but I think the darksiders will be very disappointed with some of the boys we keep for next year... but who cares what the darksiders think anyway.

Yep. We are playing a better brand of footy this year than we have since 1995. Our list is well and truly on the improve too.

great to see a predominantly positive thread. sure we'll have our opinions about the 'duds' and we'd probably all agree they aint all gone yet, but most of us would agree this is the most promising (for long term growth) our footy club has been for at least two decades. BOUT TIME.
GO tigers

Don't worry about the darksiders they're not happy unless they've got something to whinge about. They can all cry into their beers in a few years or so when we win the Premiership. I'm very happy about the improvement the side has shown this year and they have exceeded my pre season expectations.
