South Australian Commentators

Sitting here listening to 3AW on the internet and after our game they have crossed diretly to the game in Darwin, and I have one question.

Who are these clowns commentating? I assume from the hysterics that they are South Australian.

Absolute disgusting pigs. I don't usually post on pre (although I read it most days) but those SA commentators are always the worst. Being in London I need to listen to the live streaming on afl.com.au to get my fix and every time I have to listen ot them I want to throw up. They are so bias, make ridiculously irrational comments, become barrackers in close games and are too lazy to learn the majority of opposition players names. In a word, pathetic.

I listened for five minutes after the Tigers game (most I could handle) until they started saying "we're in front"! The sooner afl.com.au get rid of these 5AA troglodytes the better. Message to AFL - Stop ruining your product by streaming this crap.

Mate nothing was worse than Channel 10's commentating. The last quater was basicly an interview with Neil Daniher. The commentators barley took notice of the game.

How many times did Quartermaine call B2 Joel? Worst caller going around.

The problem with/for interestate commentators is obviously the hometown bias. The difference is that whenever they are on air they are commentating a hometown team and they only see and commentate the other teams once a year if at all so by definition they will be unfamiliar with the visiting sides players, set-up and gameplay.

In Vic, Rex et al are biased to their own teams but often they are commentating other teams and they get to see all the teams reasonably frequently and are familiar with names (well maybe not Rex "gets it out to the player in..... uh....and he gets it out to") so the bias does not manifest as badly.

Its something the ABC in particular could address because some of the interstate guys are good callers they just don't get the broader opportunity.

It's not only about getting the names right Bill. KG and his co-callers carried on like lunatics. It was entertainingly funny and would have been totally hilarious if the Bulldogs had got up.
