This player is not a household name. Didn't take up golf until he was in his twenties. Arnold Palmer was runner-up at the tournament in which this player became the oldest major winner.
A little hint. While a lot of NBA players are originally from other countries, only one who has retained his original nationality has made the HOF. A lot of the obvious ones were actually American citizens when voted in (they got naturalised).
