Article on the Herald Sun re St Kilda doing a clean out of its fitness team and signing Lions fitness expert Craig Starcivich to try and get over all its soft tissue injuries.  My belief is that more important than gun players, with a list like ours, is real capability in the fitness and conditioning area.  We have a young, undersized list.  Real investment in Olympic standard coaching staff for fitness and conditioning would make a hell of a difference, far more than an overpriced Sideshow Bob that is for sure.

Look at Adelaide, yes they got rolled at Subiaco, but Clarkson Craig as a fitness expert took them from the position we finished this year to the top of the table after the home and away season!  Not a fluke and picked by few if any.   Not having a go at existing staff just worried about the primary legacy of the Frawley era which was the lack of list improvement.  We  now have great skills coaches would it hurt to spend something additional recruiting someone really, really good for speed/fitness and/or strenth/conditioning.

Very passionate about this one since reading some years ago about a gun fitness coach at Hawthorn who took under his wing as a special project a struggling fringe player coming back from a knee injury and turned him into the No. 1 defender for the last three or four years at the Hawks in Joel Smith.
