Running Back: McLeod, from Raines and...forgotten, sorry

Man, and here I was hoping there'd be discussion about the PLAYERS, rather than the person saying it...

Excuse my ignorance but what does "6+2" mean?

They did this last year on the ABC and were supposed to limit it to 6 players...but this year they couldn't, so it became 6+2 players of the year...

Other things they mentioned were best trade (Pickett..no mention of the mighty P-Bo), best offload (Hay :hihi :hihi ) and most irritating player (finished up with Brennan from the Bears...Richo was mentioned in chorus though ;) )

Whitnall over bowden :help

Tend to agree. But the rest I had no problem with, to be honest. Whitnall doesn't provide the run Bowden does, as well as stopping his opponent. A bit strange. But it was close, apparently.

Yep, best tap ruck to player in free position - Cox was on fire early but seems hampered now.  Simmo's value around the ground is best of the lot.  White (melb variety) seems to be coming good now.  Fraser too!

Lenny Hayes was us there until injury.  T.Johnstone is starting to 'appear'.  StKilda's Ball will 'appear' in coming weeks.  Hard to knock Hodge

Chad Cornes is in there before Rutten imo atm.  Bowdo more damaging of the lot!  Milburn is good when he's there.  Michael Johnson could be mentioned in this group in time the way he is developing!

A kid call Surjan has been killing em lately in this role.  Lovett-Murray is getting in amongst it too.  And a first year - Jason Roe - is this kid dependable and can attack - will be figured by season's end.

No Brown??? of the Lion variety.  So far ahead of Fev it's not funny.

Small Forward: Didak, from Davey and Pettifer

A kid called Ebert is having an impact now in this role - be surprised by season's end if he's not considered among these.  Garry Ablett will be ahead of all these I would think.

Blue sky after Bruce atm.

Another Rising Star player by the name of Symes is having a big impact.  Played one game in 04, not a 2005 draftee (03 I think).

pettifer would be ahead of didak... maybe even davey. how many goals has davey scored compared to petts? can he run 18km in a game??????

2006 Averages:
Davey v Pettifer v Didak
Disposals: 15.2 16.9 17.6
Marks: 4.7 8.4 6.3
Goals: 1.7 1.7 1.8
Tackles: 2.8 1.6 2.0

Very similar stats....Didak just ahead of Pettifer then Davey.

I'd say Dildoak is ahead based on those stats but Jack "Hi Ho everybody" Davey looks the most "sensational" of the 3.

Not sure about Rayzor as the tall forward. ;D

:rofl

Yeah, it must be hard on 'Big Bad Barry' having to share a surname with a champion. ;)

[ducking]

For one small forward berth, Brad Johnson is a certainty. Davey might get one but everybody HATES Alan Didak. Pettifer would nearly jag the third for his marks of the week ATM and his continued improvement.

Lade has the first ruch berth sewn up ATM. Simmonds shades Cox for #2 for mine. White is going well.

If a bloke is rating the running backs and does not have Dane Swan in contention but does have Andrew Raines he is on drugs or barracks for Richmond. Who does Stan Alves barrack for?

Joel Bowden is a former AA and is getting a few kicks. Of course, he could learn a lot from Andrew Raines (playing his first full senior year). Just ask Stan Alves.

The #3 back slot is a good one. Clement, who has ruled here for a while is not at his peak. Andy Kellaway a former AA is not far off CBF- career best form. He'd be in the frame, you'd reckon. No standout (bar he) this season to date.

How good is Lade travelling?! His game last night was sensational...he was handing tha ball on a plate to his midfield. Lade and Bogan were doing party tricks on big Cox... IMO first ruck in AA team would be lade with Simmonds on the bench or forward pocket..wherever they put the second ruckman.
