PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

I am interested to read what others think of the progress of the RFC from the time of the appointment of T. Wallace, the restructuring of the on & off field departments up to the practice match played against the Swans in Carrara on March 11, 2006.

This is purely an exercise to see what the majority think, something like a 'Pulse Survey', and people will have different views on the current 'heart beat' of the club.

With the 2006 pre-season coming to a close, the club has somewhat reflected their 2005 pre-season form.  Let's look at the comparison;

2005
NAB Cup- Rich V Coll - (Lost by 7 points)
PM           Rich V Ess - (Won by 72 points)
PM           Rich V Fre - (Won by 2 points)
PM           Rich V Bris - (Won by 44 points)

2005 H & A Season - 10 Wins/12 Losses

2006
NAB Cup - Rich V Haw - (Lost by 10 points)
PM          Rich V Bull - (Won by 78 points)
PM          Rich V Swans - (Won by 40 points)
PM          Rich V Ess -    ( ? )

2006 H & A Season - ?

From the above stats, is there a reflection in the way our 2006 season is going to pan out?
How do we compare the 2 pre-seasons and are we travelling (on-field) in the right direction?
Has the restructuring of the off- field departments changed the players mind set?
What is required to become a 'respected' & 'feared' unit against our opposition?

In TW's first year as coach he has introduced; Simmonds, Deledio, Tambling, Meyer, Pattison, Knobel, Thursfield, & Foley.

During the 2006 pre-season, (apart from the continual trials of Raines, Jackson, & Roach, and the emergence of Tuck potentially being a 150+ gamer), TW has blooded Polo, McGuane, Limbach, Hughes, & P. Bowden to strut their stuff in the 'dry run' matches to see how they're travelling, and with the exception of Casserly & Oakley-Nicholls being sidelined with injuries are yet to play.  Please correct me if I've missed anyone.

Many would say that we have players who'll not be there 2-3 years time, but is the right formula being developed by our Football Department?

Your views would be greatly appreciated!
