not one person on here has an excuse of not voting..i voted on line and posted a thread on here stating such and asking if anyone else had voted and if they were going to vote.....so....no excuses.....i really thought
every one on here would have posted....


and it is SHIN not skin..pisses me off immensely....why hasnt the club done something about that????????????????????????????????? i hate to say this but would other clubs let that go?? would coloingwood have the wrong words sung at the ground after a winnning match????? i dont think so..

That's piffle ronni. ;D I wasn't making excuses though, I was stating fact. It's hard to vote online if you can't open the pages.
 
Has the club been pushing this hard?
I would say no.
The Dees have been going hard with the 150 but we have done next to nothing.

I posted on another thread about the date, receiving it on the day it was meant to close. Maybe it was a typo and should have been the 21st and not the 12th. But they did state that it was Monday the 12th it closed (the 21st was a wednesday). However, I took peoples advice from here and filled it out and posted it 14th, so hopefully it was counted.
 
On the "Head & Shin" business.

In the early 70s, before the 2nd storey of the Social Club got built, back in the days when Nelson Cox, Reg Sherlock & Perc Hawkins ran the then dominant Richmond Cricket Club, we all used to pack into the downstairs area before & after MCG games. I was only about 11, 12, 13 yo at the time.

Anyway, regularly, in the evenings, some of the old entertainers, from "the Tiv" etc, used to roll out the piano and we'd all sing the song. One of the gentlemen, regularly around the piano, and I vaguely recall being told that he was the one who wrote the lyrics to the Richmond Theme Song. From those singa longs, I've always remembered and sung it as "Head & Shin".

Probably most of the grand old ladies of that time have since passed away.

Language evolves, styles evolve. I don't think it makes alot of difference as to whether it's skin or shin, anyway.

I'll have to listen to my Fable singers or Smacka Fitzgibbon version on the EP I have at home from the 60s.
It'll be a fair clue.

Since I never want to be mistaken for SEN or a cheap ringtone, and given the strong feelings expressed here, I will give in to pressure and changing my name... if someone explains how!

I go into Profile, Modify Profile, Account Settings, put in my password but can't change my Username - Rosy, please??
 
On another note, did KB ask about the renovations at Punt Road.
'Sposed to start just after last year's Grand Final.
Then postponed till the end of the cricket season.
Now we're into the footy season again and nothing's begun.

And the liquor licence at Punt Road got cancelled last year.

Reckon there's got to be an inside story there somewhere.

I wonder if the cricket club have been told they won't have a liquor licence going into the next season.

I recall hearing something about council issues delaying start till May, but that was some time ago (and nothing is still happening). Rusty memory though, so take it with a grain of salt.
