Steven Wright weren't you watching?

Interesting. This link here written by Hirdy states that in 2004, the average salary for players who played at least 1 AFL game was $211,230. I'd say it now being 2008, that this would be quite a bit higher, especially considering there were decent cap hikes at the end of 2006..

Currently the salary cap is somewhere around the $7mill mark. With 38 players on the list, that makes $184,000 per player. A number of youngsters would be on the minimum which I believe is around the $50K mark plus match payments. And a couple who would be alot higher then that.

Do there's some figures. What you do with them is your perogative. ;D

Am really upset about this thread title.

When I heard the teasers about the changes at the top at Richmond my one fear was that it may be Wright leaving due to ill health. The guy has proven to be one of the best operators we could have hoped to get. To tar him with Miller's mistakes is totally out of order.

The Football Manager (Miller) would be given a budget by the club CEO (Wright) to spend as he wishes. If it goes belly up, as it has in the past, then the Footy Manager is responsible for the failure - or not as we have also seen in the past.

The Board of the club - with Miller as the footy director until recently - would have oversight and input into these budgets. This is the very conflict of interest that some of us have complained about in the past but don't blame Wright for it. We as members set up the structure in this way by our votes.

Have to agree Redan. Wright is one of our footy club's assets.
