PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

Some may recall my posting during last years trade period and my criticism of the proposal to bring in Mcmahon for pick 19 and the almost trade of pick 18 for Morton.

Evidently we were seen as having helped the Eagles by bidding for Juddy so we were finally given Morton for our third round pick which as I remember it, the Eagles didn't even bother to use.

What wasn't widely known at that time was that not only were we giving up pick 19 for Mcmahon but we were also agreeing to pay $350,000 per year over three years.

I spoke to 4 Bulldog people (seperately) and they all said there would be tears.

What I would like to know is how could we agree to such a deal when his failings as a footballer were so well known, especially after a year in which North had become something of a laughing stock for taking a similarly over-rated Jon Hay from the amused and ever so smug Hawks?

What I would also like to know is why the club expects members to dig deep every year when it is paying this bloke $1000 a day of our hard earned?

The fact is that we love the club and we will continue to buy memberships, but Steven I really do believe that we, the members, deserve more respect.
