Still in hospital undergoing Rehab.
Hopes to be at work in February, this might be a bit optimistic, hopefully he does.

Thanks Boss - i certainly hope so but hope he just gets 100% before returning. A fantastic tiger man and family man. Get well soon Steve.

Spoke to Michael Stahl, last night.

Steve is being let out of hospital over Christmas, then returns until the New Year.
He is currently in rehab.
His condition was detected & treated early, so he is on about the best scenario.
He'll have another month off, then should be back in the office in February.

Michael related how both he & Steve had met early on the Friday morning to swim over a kilometre in the Mandie pool. Both had hearty breakfasts and worked well through the day. The only thing Steve mentioned all of that Friday was tingling in his toes.
On the Saturday evening, Michael was stunned when he heard that Steve had been admitted to hospital. Apparently the tingling in his toes had turned to numbness and was steadily travelling up his body.

The immediate after-effect seems to currently be Steven's complete loss of any energy. That will take time to recover, but the worst scenario could well have been a year in hospital and 3 years recovery.

As per my thoughts on many of the players recovering from injury,
I hope they don't bring him back too quickly.

Thanks for that info Phantom - gee, amazing how it got so serious so quickly. Here's hoping for the best case scenario and not the worst. It must be on the favourable side for the docs to let him out of hospital over the christmas period so here is hoping all goes well.

Steve has written an open letter on the club website. Great to hear he's doing well.

Very very good news.

He has made a wonderful difference to our club and it is good to hear that the club and its supporters could make a difference to him during this challenging time.

Keep it up Steve, see you for the NAB cup!

Thanks for the link Jools

I received a letter from Steven this morning and he asked me to pass on his thanks to all at PRE for the kind support. :)
