Derwayne interviewed Blight today & both were going on about how all teams are defense 1st & someone has to start attacking etc for it to change, they still haven't clicked!

While it seems odd that collectively 33 goals in two Grand Finals is something they don't deem attacking enough, I suppose conceding only 11 in the same two games sticks out more.

I don't care that they're "still giving us nothing" just as long as they keep giving us the Cup:cupgold

Yet both Blight's flags were won with the most frugal defence in the competition (2nd & 5th in points for).

Do as I say, not as I did.

The funny thing here is Derwayne was lauding Blight for his aggressive coaching style...

His Geelong teams were very attacking, but they were only once (1991, when Ablett retired for half a season) in the top five defensively. No doubt he learned a bit at Geelong and tilted the balance later.

Ha ha! And Bucket is pronounced ‘Bouquet’!
Many years ago i was doing some work in the casino marketing dept and there was a girl there with the surname Cockburn which apparently is pronounced "Cough-burn", so i insisted that my surname Caccaviello is pronounced

Many years ago i did some work with the Casino Marketing Dept and there was a girl there with the surname Cockburn, who insisted it's pronounced "Cough-burn"!
I asked her how she pronounced "Cockroach" and when she answered i said "Exactly"!
Dumb bugger i was, because she was a good looking sort!

I remember serving a woman and her card identified her as Mrs Gross. Being 19 at the time I didn’t appreciate the nuance of pronouncing her name so I just called her Mrs Gross (as in gross, awful, yucky) to which she quickly corrected me, “it’s Gross” (as in boss, toss)

Good thinking frick- I’ve had a bee in my bonnet for quite some time about that mispronunciation. When I come to Perth to visit family I have a giggle every time I look at the sign to cockburn or hear someone trying to cover it up with a silent ck. Is there another word in the English language with a silent ck? The answer is no.

The most Australian sounding place in London, at the north end of the Piccadilly Line, is Cockfosters.

And that's definitely not pronounced 'Cofosters'.

Worked at a hotel and I pronounced this guy name as *smile* head.
He quickly corrected me and said it’s Chris Scott.
I said, no. It’s *smile* head.
Gave him the storeroom in the basement for the night.

A bit like when I meant to say to my wife "Could you pass the salt please honey" but what came out was "You ruined my life you *smile* *smile*!"

I was going to mention what my surname is apparently pronounced as then didn't because of the doubt about it getting last the sensors

It’s been an often repeated mantra for decades that the best defence wins premierships.

It’s just that our attack has also been pretty good and most normal people recognise that.

Were these two clowns complaining about eagles 79 - magpies 74 in 2018? Or was that ok because it met the ‘close’ metric?
